What's with this feigned ignorance about the PI call?

I thought it was clearly a poor call. Although it is the breaks of the game. I very rarely complain about calls...even bad ones against the Cowboys. I do agree that this board would be in full meltdown mode if Dallas were on the other end of that call.

I think interference is one of the hardest calls to get right. I know receivers get away with a lot more than they should under the rules. Such as OBJ pushing off.
I loved the result. But. I don't like PI being called in that situation and never have. I wish there were a way they could just allow some of the hand fighting to go on between the two. And let the best athelete win. But then it would get taken too far. So what we end up with is an imperfect system that is going to cause controversy in at least one or two games a week. Some calls will go your way. Some won't. Teams have to find a way to win games when the calls don't. The Giants failed to do that last night, even though Dallas gave them every chance in the world.

Hate to say it but it is part of the game. I don't think Refs are trying to help one team over another but like players make mistakes, coaches make mistake as all humans make mistakes why would anyone think refs should be perfect? Fact is giants fans can cry about it but the Giants should have been able to overcome it and failed. I would have said the same had the shoe been on the other foot and have done so in the past when a questionable or bad calls has happened to the Cowboys.

As an umpire, I can attest to the truth of your statement. I don't know any ref who purposely calls a game based on the team. I know I don't, and I've had to make calls that didn't benefit people who I like.
And, yes, refs/umpires get calls wrong. That's part of being human. There's no grand conspiracy, which is why I kind of laugh when people say the refs are out to get us. And, no, I'm not ignore the rare, rare cases where refs are on the take. But those cases are like picking out the random salt grain in a shore of sand.

Even with the Dez "No Catch" - which I thought was a catch at first - I understood the reversal. I may not like calls that are made, but I rarely believe the calls are inspired by a "We're out to get the Cowboys" mentality.

I agree, ticky tacky at best. I know if our DB was called on a play like that I would have PO'ed

Yep. Me too. That was a huge blown call in our favor as far as I'm concerned. But hey, that's football. Sometimes you're the dog, sometimes you're the bone.

Yep and NY was still in a situation where they could have closed the game out and they failed to do it. The pass and thrown away down by the goal line had a much bigger impact on that game.

If you watch Cromartie's left hand too, he hooks it under Williams arm as Williams is making his cut to stay with him. If anything it could have been a holding call. I hate PI because it's such an inconsistent call.

This is what I thought. Illegal contact or holding should have been the call. Cromartie definitely held him up and impeded the route, but once the ball was in the air the contact was negligible.

Horrible call and one we will take. He put his hand on his shoulder but there was no tug as you can see his shoulder didn't move backwards.

It was the right call, and I would say the same thing if our guy got caught doing it. It was very subtle by the DB, but when you impede the receiver's motion with that subtle shoulder tug so he's not able to go up to the high point in the air to make the catch, you pass interfered. That one gets missed a lot, and it was less blatant than the one they missed earlier in the game in the end zone, but it was clearly there.
