losing in say . . . . the NFC Championship game?

For example, if the Giants were to lose in the Super Bowl, whether it's by 1 point or 30 points, is that worse than losing in the NFC Championship game?

You could argue that it's meaninful to even play in the Super Bowl, win or lose. On the other hand, it's a huge stigma to have lost the Super Bowl with about 1 billion people around the world watching.

I guess with respect to our Cowboys, I'm still proud that we played in a record 8 Super Bowls. It says a lot to the quality of our teams over the years.

IMO if the giants get blown out those 3 road victories meant nothing. If they lose by 7-10 pts no shame in that. Almost everyone knows the pats will win, but can the giants at least keep it competitive.

Yhea, that's definitely one way of looking at it.

You really don't want to get blown out.

That could carry into next year big time.

(On a side note, please let the Giants get blown out! :laugh2: )

At least the conference championship loser's coach gets to coach the Pro Bowl...the Super Bowl loser gets NOTHING.

The way it is is usually "The deeper you go, the harder the wound". If anything, I doubt if the Skins, Bucs, Titans, and Steelers feel the sting nearly as much as the Packers do.

Yeah I hear ya man. Seeing the giants in the game turns my stomach. I still can't believe we wasted such a golden opportunity. I hope they get killed. Hopefully this Run of good fortune will spread to my celtics.

Bah...the more I think about it, we probably wouldn't have had much chance against the Pats, especially our pass D. Jacques Reeves and Roy would have been schooled all game long(and we have no inside pass rush to boot to give Brady fits in this area)-Brady, Moss, and Welker would have set all kinds of records against us.:(

Yea, I hate to admit it guys but no way we would beat the Pats if we were in the SB today. With freaking Jacques Reeves and Roy trying to play pass defense........well, freaking Eli embarrassed them, what would Brady have done.

On top of that, we were struggling at the end of the season and playoffs. When we played the Pats the first time, we were actually playing pretty well and still got beat by double digits, thanks to run-it-up-Belicheat.

If there was one SB to sit out, this is the one.

Worst to lose at home after having the bye week in the playoffs. :D

Anyway certainly no shame in losing once you make it to the big game, just more fuel to the fire to try to get back.

Even worse is getting BLOWN OUT in the playoffs by 21pts then have your HOF coach flatout QUIT on you and then your midget IDIOT owner turn your franchise into the JOKE of the league. By the way, its Feb., who's yalls HC?:lmao2: :lmao2: :lmao2: :lmao2: :lmao2: :lmao2:

Losing in the Super Bowl or losing in the playoffs is all the same....

in the end......the season wasnt a success.

Playoff victories mean squat.......and nobody remembers those victories.

we only remember SB's
