I want to take the temperature of the board.

You started off with a pre-season prediction for this team. How has that changed, if at all, now that about a 1/3rd of the season has been played? I can't imagine anyone thinks worse of the team, but hey....it's your world.

For me, I clearly underrated the Cowboys. I had them at 6-10. Now I'd have to elevate that to a conservative 9-7. Still not ready to believe they're a contender, but that thought is a whole lot less ridiculous to me now that we're 5 games in. You can see a way, with this OL and the run game.

Preseason prediction: 6-10, top 10 pick in the draft.

Redo: 9-7, 2nd in the division, just miss a playoff berth.

I saw them as somewhere between 7-9 and 9-7. I'm gonna stick with 8-8

I underestimated league parity again. Predicted 6-10. Have to go with 10-6 now.

I'll hold my judgement until after this weeks Seattle game.

I agree. Still not totally confident given the teams we've played. That being said, I feel a WHOLE lot more confident than before the season started.

I thought you said if we won yesterday, you would go full blown homer.

Had them going 8-8 due to recent history it seemed like a safe bet, not quite ready to change that yet but a good showing in Seattle would make me adjust it

I though 8-8/9-7 and I'll bump it to 10-6.

Yesterday's game had the makeup of previous years blown games.
Would of been one of those 2-3 games where we all look back and say, "if we won that, we could of made the playoffs". Luckily, Romo made enough plays, and Dez made an amazing catch to seal it.

It depends on how we play the Giants and eagles. If we split we will be 8-8. If we sweep the East then we will go 11-5. But most likely 9-7 but looking at the Eagles schedule. If we split with them they will go 11-5 or 10-6 and win the division.

My initial prediction was 6-10 but now I think that 9 to 10 wins are possible. I underestimated the Cowboys commitment to the run game and the success from it has done wonders for this team. I looked up yesterday and it was about 2:20 pm and the 4th quarter was almost over, our game went into ot and still ended before some other games. The shorter the games the better for us because that means that we are running the ball, keeping our defense off the field and rested, and keeping the other teams offense on the sidelines. We are now dictating the game instead of it being the other way around.

Tony Romo is a top 10 qb but the Cowboys, in past years, needed him to be Manning or Rodgers to win and that was asking too much from him. Now he is more of an Aikman role which I like alot. The commitment to the oline has paid off immensely, and we are finally forming an identity.

I have gone from 7-9 before the season started to 9-7 now. Win or lose, we will give Seattle a run for their money this week. The real story will be written when those divisional games start hitting hot and heavy. I do like the fact that we had an opportunity this year to really get our act together before playing our first divisional game.

The Giants game will reveal where the Cowboys are at IMO. If they can handle them then I think 9 wins is possible.

vastly underrated point. I think this is huge and maybe the most important point about this teams success going forward. Its huge to be able to get yourself in order before facing off what are already tough games, regardless of records, and in this case for the cowboys, a little confidence.

Before the season began, I thought 7-9 to 9-7 and split the difference to 8-8. I'm going to stick with 8-8 but acknowledge that is it more likely that we go 9-7. I was leaning more towards 7-9 before the season began and after week 1 I thought that was optimistic.

Short answer: 8-8

Was at 7-9 and think I'm still there. We are improving but one major injury away on defense could change the season.
Just remaining optimistic and hopeful.
