does anyone see Jerry and Bill bringing in a particular head coach as some sort of assistant to the team after they get thrown out on their butts by their current team?
Just for example Dom Capers as a defensive assistant to the 3-4? This is not to knock Zimmer but just an example as Bill is always trying to improve the team.

Mike Tice as TE coach.

If anyone is brought in it will likely be as a favor to keep a guy employed.
A guy like Tice who has chatted with BP alot makes sense as a guy who needs an image overhaul and soem more exposure to an old school coaching style.

Doubt any coaches would rank high on the food chain but Zimmer and Payton could be targets for other jobs again so you never know. Good seasons raise everyone's stock and the coaching business is a carousel.

Agreed, and if Zimmer were to get a shot at HC somewhere the Dom Capers comment could be very pertinent. Dom would make a great DC for us especially with our 3-4; he just doesn't have what it takes as a HC. And if Al Davis blows up and fires Norv Turner I’d love to have him back as OC if Payton went somewhere.

Please look forward into the future, not into the past of failed head coaches. There are plenty of young up and coming guys available.

Bruce Coslett was on of these failed head coaches and he sabotaged Dave Campo in hopes of getting his job

Well, while you may have a point, the subject of this thread WAS about Head Coaches.

Jerry won't bring in someone against BP's wishes, it's all BP's coaching decisions. Including any possible future or grooming for future HC's.

I'd love to have Norv back EVEN IF Payton didn't go anywhere. I think Norv could work wonders with this offense and Julius Jones.
