An interesting point brought up on Norm this morning. I think they said something like Roy's contract being up after 2007. The question they posed, do you resign him for big money even though he's such a huge liability in pass coverage? If the decision had to be made today, I say yes being that as far as the players are concerned he is the face of the franchise. I just don't know if it would be wise. He has reached Larry Allen territory, making the Pro Bowl on reputation. IMO, this has not been a good year for him. I think his best was the first year Parcells got here and Woody was back there with him. Anyways, thoughts?

Are you serious? He has made 3 straight Pro Bowls, is the second best SS in the NFL, and no DB intimidates WRs like him.

What?

This is so laughable.

Where is AdamJT's post at showing that Roy has made just as many, if not more turnovers than all of the Safeties in the NFC or the NFL.

Roy made the play of the year and before you say "Oh, the pass Mcnabb threw straight to him", like some Smart-arse posted when I have stated this before, go take a quick look at the Atlanta game yesterday.

Jake Delhomme threw a pass that was eerily like the one Roy picked off to an Atlanta safety and he completely dropped it. The next play, I mean the very next play, you see Deshaun Foster run for what...70 yard TD or whatever it was.

Causing fumbles in Giants and Denver game, picked off a pass against the Panthers.

Dude is a player and if they dont re-sign him, he will just go to some other team and go to about 50 gizzillion Pro Bowls and make about 1 million key plays.

If we dont play all these 2-deep shells, 3-deep zones all year and he is allowed to be more aggressive like in 2003, he makes even more plays.

Too bad Reed wont be leavin BMore anytime soon. If he did leave and we picked him up, i wonder if we could move him to FS?:):):):) That would be the best and i mean it, the best Secondary in the NFL. Seriously. Reed and Williams back there making WR piss their pants. Big hits knockin helmets off, forcin turnovers. Newman and Henry challenging any WR in the league, Glenn in the nickel gettin picks. It would be the best secondary in the league.

Anyway Roy is among the NFL's elite at his position and i cant stand people saying he cant cover, especially skins fans. If im not mistaken Reggie Brown scored twice while Sean Taylor was "supposedly" helping out in coverage!!!!!
Roy Williams forces fumbles, gets INT's returns em for TD's. He is the complete package at his position. He's got it all!!!!!!
3 Straight pro bowls in a 4 year career!!!!!
The kid can play. I hope we sign him to a loooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnggggggggg time deal or extension!!!!!!!

Getting rid of Roy would be one of the biggest bonehead things you could do. No DB is without mistakes and Roy is a playmaker.

He would be signed for a fortune in FA.

I would not extend his or anyone's contract this early. He's good, but we've made mistakes signing guys to extended huge contracts before. He made huge money on his first contract due to being taken so early...he'll get his. No need to let him test FA, but no rush to resign either.
