I'm just guessing, will there be about 10 "Romo for MVP" threads?

And yeah, I said "when", not "if".

If we get a W, then yes. The same people that would rather have Drew Henson at QB right now will be back, swinging from Romo's jock strap cheering like a young child on his first trip to DisneyLand.

If we get a L, then the same people will be calling for us to blow up the roster, starting with trading Jason Witten for 10 draft picks so we can draft 10 QBs in order to MAKE SURE that we get a QB that can win a Super Bowl in his rookie year, knock up a celebrity hottie, leave her for a Victoria's Secret supermodel, win a couple more Super Bowls before playing in the biggest choke in NFL history after being involved with a coaching staff that has cheated ever since Super Bowl victory #1 and then get his knee completely blown out by a no-name safety on a blitz in the first game of the season against a 2-11 team.

Yeah. :eek::

I expect them to win next week....so you won't hear it from me.

They need to win out and get to the NFC conference final before I will say he has taken a step forward.

They can.

Even though they lost today, I'm convinced of that more than ever.

We have to win the next 3 in impressive manner and Romo would have to play all world in the playoffs and during the stretch. Now given the last 2 seasons plus this years 1st game in December. How logically is this going to happen other than pulling it out of the planet Uranus.

Yeah, but that's all Romo's fault.

Nope. When we win next week the ones trashing him now will claim that the win had everything to do with everyone else on the team and nothing to do with him.

I think they can win DESPITE Tony Romo...

the defense and special teams needs to step up even more. They need to force turnovers....they to score because they can't rely on the offense to move the ball consistantly and put up points and/or run down the clock efficiently

I won't.

First, let me say that Romo should be starting for this team - PERIOD.

But even a Giants win isn't really going to sway my opinion of Romo too much.

The Steelers game, in my opinion, approximates the kind of game we're going to have to play if we want to beat the Giants and maybe the Bears in the playoffs. And, possibly, the Eagles, if it comes down to the last game of the season. You know, swirling winds, cold temperatures, etc.

And that's where my concern lies.

I expect Romo to do well in the confines of Texas Stadium. But I hope this Steelers game doesn't become a portend as to how he will play outdoors with the playoffs on the line.

Now, what's really interesting is that the teams who may make the playoffs ... Tampa, Minnesota, Atlanta, New Orleans, Carolina and Arizona play in either warm weather climates or domes.

So maybe we don't have to worry about the cold weather until we have to play the Giants, if we have to play the Giants.

But if we do have to play a cold weather team, this game Sunday doesn't inspire a great deal of confidence.

Then again, Romo didn't have Barber to rely on. So maybe it's different the next time.

Whether he was at fault for certain things or not, today's game killed Romo's chances of winning the MVP. In his situation, if you want to win the MVP, you can't throw three interceptions, including one returned for the game-winning touchdown in the final two minutes to complete a huge collapse.

Bingo.

So, nope, even if the Cowboys win next week there won't be any Romo-for-MVP threads appearing. Or at least, there shouldn't be. I think he also kissed his Pro Bowl hopes goodbye today, as well.

I fully expect this team to have a good game or two here in December. It's not like during our December swoons we've been going 0-4 every year.

It's the whole body of work that matters. Meaning not just today's loss and not just a win next week should it come -- but the whole thing.

This team has its back against the wall and one nice win might not mean anything if we can't follow it up with two more. It'd be foolish to draw too many conclusions from next week alone.

The reason today's loss is so alarming is that it continues that pitiful December trend of ours. You can't help but get the here-we-go-again feeling.

People can't throw Romo under the bus..Every QB has bad games. I can understand people being upset with his playoff preformances but even at that Romo still gives it his all. Today when he escaped a sack and threw a TD pass to T.O that was a great play and my mouth dropped because I thought we had him..for once I knew what it was like when Players miss Ben..and to be honest it's aggravating but let's be honest..You may lose with Romo but you can't win without him. He gives you guys the best chance to compete week in and week out.

Steelers defense confuses and disrupts routes against a lot of teams, Romo wasn't the only one. It was one bad game don't be so hard on the guy.

Romo missed a lot of passes while not under presure at all , some of it was the defense but a lot of it was god knows what, guess it's just December Romo showing up to finish off another season :banghead:

For the most part, it's a typical knee-jerk reaction we all get after losses.: Sometimes, we end up saying things we have no idea we're saying.

We'll get over it a couple of days from now-dissapointing loss? Yeah-but at the same time, the better team DID win yesterday. It wasn't like last year when we needed a miracle to beat the lowly Lions, or the year before when we got kicked in the teeth by a bickering Giants team and needed some lucky breaks to win.

BTW-don't worry, we'll beat the Ratbirds for you on 12/20 to close out our TX Stadium finale!:)

I agree but be glad your QB can throw a deep ball accurately except in decemeber lol Ben struggles with the deep ball it's always underthrown but today was spot on with that 47 yarder to holmes. Needless to say I don't think Phillips is going to take you guys anywhere, I heard Cowher is looking for a job lol

We'll have our new stadium next year-won't surprise me at all if Jerry makes a run for Cowher JUST to get media attention = rating$ = additional funding for that new stadium.

Not saying this will happen, but Jerrah's been doing all he can to fund that state-of-the-art new stadium.

Ravens fans aren't annoying, I usually post on bengals.com forum, If you ever want some quality smack talk go there. I go there due to the Steelers message board sucking big you know what.

I usually go post on opponents message board just to talk football and so far I like it, I may stay just to talk football and have some fun. Dunno how long I can take all these damn stars on the right though! lol

Eagle fans..they are somethin else..they threw stuff at Santa..now that is terrible.
