It depends. If the team is really rolling with Dak then the choice will be clear. But if we're hovering around .500 then I'd make Tony earn the job back. I wouldn't throw him back in there without a couple weeks of solid practice. No Romo Wednesdays. If it was up to me i would just ride Dak and see what happens.

I think the captains should have some say in this. I want the guy that the players want to play with under center.

Yes, the 13 year vet who has played way more games and developed way more chemistry with almost everyone there should have to "earn" it over the rookie. I'm sure that's the conclusion the captains would come to. "Hey we've got 1 TD pass in 3 games, no way to improve on that. Let's roll with the rookie." The sky must be an interesting color in your universe.

Yeah you don't hand a guy a job who hasn't played significant time in years. You make him earn it. He's 37 with a bad back. You don't throw him out there without working him back in for a couple weeks especially if the team is rolling with Dak. This is simple for everyone else. Your head has always been stuck up Tony's *** so far that you can't be pragmatic or objective about anything cowboys.

And you've always been a Romo hater, spouting so many lies (he's 36) you've been nicknamed "Troll Blazer".

The job was "handed" back to him in training camp, not "years" ago. And your idea that the captains on the team would prefer a rookie with 3 games of experience over Romo is one of the dumbest things I've read here, and that's saying a lot.

Back under your rock you go.

As Dandy Don Meredith would say (to Romo in this case):

"Turn out the lights, the party's over..."

If Dak continues to play well he should remain the starter. If I had any sort of confidence in Romo playing without sustaining another injury, I'd be fine with Tony returning. Fact of the matter is he's old and beat up. He can still play but he's playing on borrowed time.

The offense is doing fine with Dak and it will get better as he settles in and gains experience.

You play Romo if he is healthy in 2016.
Period, zero questions.

Dak looks great and is the future but making the future now increases pressure upon him 10 fold.
Let him take the clipboard and if Romo isn't very good you suggest his injury is lingering and start Dak later.
This isn't a one year decision.

Dak might be more fun for Cowboys fans but what's best for Dak is some success, some time to study under Romo and take the reins next year full bore.

Romo will give you a better chance to win in all likelihood but I am not sure that matters most of all.
I think what matter is getting Dak some action then getting him out of the lineup before he hits a wall.
Let him grow in every way as the next guy up without being forced into 16 games this year.
Not sure why he's going to hit a wall in your opinion..

I can name numerous QBs as rookies who did no such thing..

Sonny Jurgenson ( my personal Fav QB.)

Boomer Eisiason

Darrel Lamonica

Jim Plunkett

Tom Brady

Doug Williams

Donovan Mc Nabb

Dan Marino

Don Meredith

Troy Aikman

YA Tittle

Bart Starr

Ron Jaworsky

Babe Parelli

Grogan

Bledsoe

Lenny Dawson

Joe Montana

Joe Kapp

I'll stop there.

These guys struggled in their rookie seasons but a wall?

Don't think they did anything but learn quickly and turn their teams around.

I don't think you protect and spoon feed QBs.

You put them out there and get them ready if they are talented.

If not..they are like Weeden.

I know you weren't addressing me, but I don't think it's clear the entire Cowboy or coaches. And I knows it's not clear to Staubach, Aikman, Irvin, etc.

I actually think you (and about a dozen others in this forum) are in the minority.
