When was the last time Jerry got a quality linebacker?

You want to know why Detroit and Philadelphia (I hate saying what I'm about to say about Philly) are as dangerous as they are? You want to know why Denver is really good? Their defence has both good pass rush, good NTs (which we now do with Clark and Williams), and good linebackers. I think if we can get our linebackers upgraded with the front 4 we are developing, I think we can be a much better defence, especially if we get one of the DCs I mentioned.

That said, yeah, it's crazy how bad we are at linebacker. Seriously, when was the last time Jerry actually got a quality linebacker?

Rusty--who was that first round pick that did not seem to work out for another team...and we got him in 2014 when Lee tore ACL
in mini camp?...there were games he was a monster...he was like 6 foot 5 inch...250 lbs muscle???....we went 12-4
and beat the Lions in wild card and lost to Green Bay when Dez did catch it but they said he did not but couple years later
it was deemed a catch?...Oh that is right Rolando McClain...when he was on he was a beast

That would be good. But again, it would involve Jerry getting involved in FA. I think Styles and Downs solve one of the LB and the S problems. Getting the other LB in FA would be huge.
 
Is this a trick question? We all know it was in the 1997 draft when Dexter Coakley was a steal in the 3rd round from THE Appalachian State Mountaineers.

And the rest is history.

Great memory. I remember like it was yesterday. Who knows what his ceiling was but yeah I feel like he was a forgotten “what could’ve been”.
 
The moment they made Parsons an edge rusher they should have reinvested heavily on a MLB but they refused to do so. A stud LB next to overshown would do wonders behind that 5 man front. And maybe they wouldn't need a 5 man front to begin with.

This, they thought this would fix everything but didn’t they realize they weakened the LB position and did nothing which is like putting a bandage on a gunshot wound.
