the Cowboys beat the last remaining undefeated team in the league during any season?

Come to think of it...

When was the last time the Cowboys were the last undefeated team during any season? And who gave them their first loss that season?

1. Commanders in '91 would be my guess.

2. No clue.

Commanders in 1991 and 8-0 in 1977 would be my guesses.

Look at the 1983 season. Dallas started 7-0 before losing to the Raiders by a measly 2 points. Dallas eventually went to 12-2 (with both losses by a combined 3 points) before losing a big showdown with the Commanders. They lost a blowout to the 49ers the next week and then faded quietly in the wild card game. It was a big disappointment at the end of that year.

But I think that is the last time Dallas was the last undefeated team to lose.

Dallas started 7-0 in 1983 before losing to the Los Angeles Raiders.

EDIT: Oops, beaten to the punch.

You are right. After starting 8-0, we lost back to back games to Pittsburgh and St. Louis. Then we ran off 7 straight more wins including the Super Bowl.
