When we beat Detroit, is there any chance we could play Seattle?

that we could end up playing Seattle? Or is it absolutely CERTAIN that we would play Green Bay?

I ask because I have to fly that Sunday and it's going to be a late flight for me if we play GB (as I will NOT be missing the game). Can anyone say for a FACT?

Thanks! Go Cowboys!

It's very simple. GB plays the highest seed remaining after this weekend. We're the highest seed playing this weekend. If we win, we will be the highest seed remaining, no matter what else happens. Therefore, we play GB.

Seattle is the #1 seed. Green Bay is #2. The #1 seed plays the lowest seeded Wild Card game winner. The #2 seed plays the highest seeded winner. The Wild Card weekend teams are ranked: #3 Dallas, #4 Carolina, #5 Arizona, #6 Detroit. If Dallas wins, they're the highest seeded winner no matter what, and therefore they play Green Bay. If Detroit wins, they're the lowest seeded winner, and therefore they play Seattle.

Are we too overconfident about beating Detroit? I hope we don't find out how this boad would explode over a loss tomorrow. Come on, Cowboys. Keep this train rolling. #FinishTheFight

For a FACT, 3 has to play 2 if they advance past the wild card round.

The 1 seed gets the lowest advancing seed. The 3 seed can't be that.

So Detroit, the 6 seed, can not play Green Bay (2) next week if they were to win. They go to Seattle.

Garrett's one playoff loss away from being a bum with basic schemes again.

Thank you all. If I'd stopped a minute I would have known this, but I'm grateful for your replies.

We are not playing a 9-7 wild card team or a 7-8-1 division winner.

I don't understand why fans would find losing to an 11-5 team that played for the division title vs GB so demoralizing. I certainly hope we win, but in my opinion the #6 seed is the second best team playing this weekend for the NFC.

After GB it would be Seattle. Oh no I just looked ahead, that's a no-no :muttley:

That's assuming Seattle wins next week. I know they're playing great but I don't know why everyone is acting like eventually playing them is some forgone conclusion. They could lose before the championship round.
