Just a few days ago there were a ton of people who felt like Parcells and the Cowboys had just commited franchise suicide by starting Romo aka Moxie. Sigs were everywhere people were resorting to drug use before the game, taking shots of Everclear to numb there pain and disappointment in the inevitable destruction of the franchise,...Where are those guys now?

I am not a Romo hater. I just want to see more than one game.

Same here. It is always a risky move making that kind of change even Parcells knew he was running a risk. I'm very happy about how Romo played and look forward to seeing him go up against the Skins this week and hope he continues to have success. The key for Romo as it is for any athlete is consistency and we will soon find out if he can show that.

Thats a good position to have. But it seems like most people have swung from one side of the fence all the way over to the other, Before he ONLY had Moxie now hes the most intelligent guy in the league I beleive some of our esteemed peers have developed a man-crush

I certainly hope so, but I reserve the right to change my mind (a.k.a. Waffle) at any time, he77 after each throw, from doom to savior and everything in between.

Gary Hogeboom had a record setting first game also. Did you write these "Where are the Hogeboom doubters now" threads back then also?

How about we give Romo the rest of the season before annointing him the next Staubach/Aikman ... or even the next Danny White?

I call Romo the COULD-kid.

COULD ...
... be a good QB.
... be a 1 game wonder.
... be a long term solution.
... get injured after his next hit.
... take us to the playoffs.
... lose every game the rest of the year
... win every game the rest of the year

Who knows?

I guarantee you we will not lose every game the rest of the year with Romo at the helm.

GUARANTEE you

You people are so sad its too funny.

People doubted him against Carolina, now they are doubting him against Washington.

When he beats Washington they will doubt him vs Arizona,

No matter what this kid does he will be doubted because he was undrafted.
He could lead us to the playoffs and people will say well Bledsoe could have done that. I dont see anything in this kid except a backup, BECAUSE he was an undrafted QB. Thats what people will say.

Wow! I hardly see anyone saying that about Romo.

In fact, there was a poll taken here after the NYG game but before Carolina and the vast majority (80%) thought Romo should be the starter.

And in a followup poll predicting our season record, at a time when we were 3-3, the majority (90%) again said Romo would maintain or improve (8-8 or better) that record over the remainder of the season.

If anything I think people are probably buying into Romo too much at this point because he truly is still young and unproven. Romo himself stated you don't know what you're going to get when you start someone at QB like that.

So while hopes are very high amongst the majority the "reservations" are very well founded.

Its those who have "no doubts" about Romo that are out to lunch. Romo is persuing a stellar career against all odds. Those odds won't dictate his fate. But history tells us they shouldn't be ignored either.

Romo has a ways to go before he becomes proven and a safe bet. Hopefully he will. Any reasonable Cowboy fan is pulling for him to do just that. But its ridiculous to chastise fans for not declaring him as having arrived after a single regular season start. Even if you're of the opinion that he's a sure thing you'd be a fool to declare others foolish for not making the same declaration because the truth is that the preponderance of evidence is on their side.

Right now, Romo's stats aren;t any better than Bledsoe's. He still has 4 int's in 6 qtrs of football. Maybe with first team practice, he will settle down, I don;t know yet. That pick he threw against Carolina was dumb.

I am reserving judgement, but a cautiously optomistic. If he blows away the Commanders, I may try and catch the bandwagon before it leaves town for Arizona.

Romos stats arent any better than Bledoes? Your kidding right?

Romo's completion % 63.5
Bledoe's completion % 53.3

Romo's YPA 8.44
Bledsoe's YPA 6.89

Romo td every 15 attempts
Bledsoe td every 24 attempts

Romo gets sacked once every 15 attempts
Bledsoe gets sacked once every 10 attempts

Romo's QB rating is 84.9
Bledsoes QB rating is 69.2

The only stat That Bledsoe has been better than Romo has been INT's

One game does not a career make. Put me in the need to see more category. What I did see was fairly impressive, but that is not enough.

They are jumping on the wagon now, but it is almost too dang full!

Wagons are for bandwagon fans, I support all of our players but I'm not going to put Romo in the SB or HOF just yet. See some of us actually have watched the NFL long enough to know 1 game is not going to tell us everything about any player. I want Romo to be successful but I'm not going to place grand expectation on him this early in the process. This is also what Parcells has been saying
