Not in Indiana.Coaches are wildly overrated.

how many teams do we have again? 32?Curious to hear views on this. I think he is dead last. Not a serious HC in this league.
Exactly. I can't believe people defend him.how many teams do we have again? 32?
I'd put him at 39.
This is how much Jerry respects the importance of a head coach--he never even requested an interview with this guy:

honestly as an Offensive minded head coach i rank him in top 10. as a Game manager id say Top 15. as a talent evaluator of the defense Dead last. He put together a Great Offensive staff and i believe he would have put together a good defensive one had he been allowed to pick his own DC. so i cannot really evaluate him until after next year.Curious to hear views on this. You mean the guy with a roster full of 24-year-old players playing against teenagers? Not in Indiana.
Yeah poor OSU, Alabama and Oregon. You mean the guy with a roster full of 24-year-old players playing against teenagers?
The NCAA has to stop allowing these guys to play 6 or 7 years in collegeYeah poor OSU, Alabama and Oregon.
I don’t disagree. The NCAA has ruined college sports. Still not going to feel bad for Alabama and OSU. Indiana deserves a lot credit. They have had a great year. The NCAA has to stop allowing these guys to play 6 or 7 years in college
They have for sure, but it's like a varsity high school team playing against 7th graders.I don’t disagree. The NCAA has ruined college sports. Still not going to feel bad for Alabama and OSU. Indiana deserves a lot credit. They have had a great year.
don't recall saying he was a world beater but I'm not judging based on a preconceived notion or a hate for Jerry. He did some things better than the previous superbowl winning coach. I'm happy to give him a little more rope. What about the fact that he got as many wins as the previous coach got without Dak for 9 games? Impressive.
I'm not ready to join the angry torch and pitchfork crowd looking to vent my frustrations on the HC yet. He's an offensive coach and had a pretty good offense this year, including a running game. The defense of course was a nightmare, but you don't see any of his fingerprints on it, that was all Jerry, from the crap roster to the crap DC. Get a quality defense out there and finish figuring out the OT situation, then let's evaluate Schotty. Seems like we've had this same scenario over and over and over again, with different head coaches, but the same guy at GM.Curious to hear views on this. I think he is dead last. Not a serious HC in this league.
Of course 99.9% of the issue is the Jones family. That said Shottenheimer would not be a HC anywhere but in Dallas.I'm not ready to join the angry torch and pitchfork crowd looking to vent my frustrations on the HC yet. Yep, middle of the pack.Mid pack somewhere.
You have maybe 5-6 HCs that stand out. Then, there's very little difference among the next 10-15.
Unknown but successful OCs get their shot at the head coaching position all the freaking time. Sometimes even the unsuccessful ones!Of course 99.9% of the issue is the Jones family. That said Shottenheimer would not be a HC anywhere but in Dallas.
