Where does the Cowboys front seven rank in the NFC East?

#4. The Dallas Cowboys Front Seven
This unit has potential. But potential doesn’t win games.
The Cowboys has spent each of it’s last three second round picks trying to improve it’s pass rush, and none of those three picks (DeMarcus Lawrence, Randy Gregory, and Jaylon Smith) will be on the field for at least the first four games of the season (it would be surprising to see Smith get on the field at all in 2016).
There is talent in the middle with linebackers Sean Lee and eventually Rolando McClain (EDIT: welp…) , as well as Tyrone Crawford in the middle of the line. Recently signed defensive tackle Cedric Thornton could also keep this unit from underachieving.
For this defense to succeed, the front seven needs to come out swinging to make the secondary’s job easier.
The front seven will be bailed out somewhat by what appears to be a powerful run game on the offensive side of the ball. If the offense can milk the clock, it’ll mask a less than stellar defense and hopefully win this team some games...
