Davis was all over the place in reports from all sorts of sources. But not a peep about Columbo outside of a couple of short blurbs that maybe he was going to Denver or NY.

Davis only went to two places, and reportedly the Giants were also interested...

I really doubt Colombo is going to draw a huge market though with his injury history....I really wont be surprised if we end up keeping him

i keep spelling it wrong too -- but the correct spelling is Colombo. If we re-sign him, we should all make an effort to get that right.

I think he's in Los Angeles, but you can probably pick up a copy of his first season in local video stores.

It's not like we're adding a letter (Whitten) or removing a letter (Emmit). It's still pronounced the same way. Colombo... Columbo... not a big deal.

The way in which Jerry played the Columbo card was smart, instead of over reacting, and handing him a huge contract, he played the market and let Columbo set his price. If he would have drawn some serious interest, we would probably be hearing about it by now.
Unless another desperate team..(Skins) step up and want to drive Columbos market value up, we should beable to resign him at below market price. Smart move by Jerry and Stephen.

Apparantly. I've always spelled it with a U.

If he gets paid he probably won't care how the fans spell his name. :D

This is angering me. Columbo is NOT good enough to warrant all this hubub, and I'm assuming he's throwing some of his weight around in the negotiations as such. I'd like to have him back, but if it's going to cost us Tony Pashos money, I say screw it. He's not worth it, especially considering all the money Romo and T-New are about to make.

Colombo is a good player and has solidified a troubled spot on our O line. Do you really want to keep playing musical chairs there?

The cap will be nearly $30 million higher when T-New gets his new contract.

And don't you want to be able to use more of it without Columbo's albatross of a salary eating up a solid chunk?

Lookit, I like the guy, and I'm glad we got some production out of him last year. But if it's going to take $9 mil a year to keep him here, I say sionara.

I think we can get him signed without hurting our cap situation. This is a very new era in terms of cap economics. Things look out of whack when they may not be. We'll be fine.
