Where Is My Mind?

Just seeing the thread title made me smile. I met Kim Deal and Black Francis before a show in Tempe in about '91. She was hanging out next to a fence reading Guitar Player magazine. He was walking through the club mingling. Both really cool people, and they just smiled when I told them this new band Nirvana was totally ripping them off. Pretty sure it was their last tour.
Alot of people are unaware of that piece of trivia. Many think the grunge sound started in Seattle, but it was actually born in Boston, Mass. Seattle made it their own though.

While we are on the topic, many people think gangsta rap was started by NWA, but that was actually the Beastie Boys...I think...o_O

At least Cobain did the right thing by admitting he purposely tried to copy them.

I think grunge comes to us from R&B through what used to be called heavy metal and now is just called rock. "Babe I'm Gonna Leave" had the loud-quite-loud formula down.

Grunge, to me, is more like Folk Rock, with heavier distortion, and lyrics that manage to both confuse and depress simultaneously, even if you really have no idea what the song is about.

yea garrett is changing.
they took play calling away couple years ago.
this year, they just took away offensive game planning/scheming or any offensive involvement - right?
does he do anything for the defense?
probably not
and he certainly does no clock management.
do they have taken away everything except clapping?

Garrett is still team gum chewer and azz slapper.
