So, should he have never thrown the ball in the 2nd half knowing Romo can make mistakes?
What is the acceptible percentage, and how does the fact that it was still very early in the 2nd half come into play?
Do you think we could have run out the clock with 26 minutes left to play?
Do you think pulling back a little, but still trying to do some of what had built a 24 point lead was unreasonable?[/quote]
No, I don't, but you and I have a different opinion on what pulling back a little means. We could've pulled back more than a little and still ran a successful offense AND used the clock AND made the Lions work for any scores instead of just giving them away.
We were running 43% of the time, and most of the passes were dump offs, screens etc ..... dinks and dunks. We weren't throwing downfield and/or throwing risky and/or low percentage passes.
If Garrett felt pulling back more than that would risk losing our tempo and consistency, and would cost us momentum, I have no problem with that.
Again, 26 MINUTES LEFT in the game, and against a team that had been averaging over 30 points a game. You can't risk turning the tide in their favor then trying to scratch and claw to hold on after the momentum has turned.
A mere 2 TD's and suddenly Detroit is back in the thick of things, and the tone of the game has changed with a lot of time left for Detroit to score more. With a team averaging over 30 points per game that is entirely possible, and easily something a team has to try and prevent.
Had Garrett started calling shots downfield I would agree with you, but a safe dink and dunk passing game mixed in with a lot of runs is not being risky.

Bingo! Yeah, let's deflect the blame from Romo and lay it at Jason's feet.
Again, this one is not on JG. It's not that hard to figure out!
It's also not that hard to figure out that short of a completely insurmountable lead teams don't completely back off a highly successful game plan with 26 minutes left in the game, especially when playiing against one of the highest scoring teams in the league.
