My "inside sources" tell me that they all decided that Jerry would not talk during the Press Conference.

The decision was due to them being afraid that Jerry talking and smacking his lips every 3 seconds would make people think of someone popping pills and they wanted to get away from the idea of popping pills under the circumstances.
