For me, it's Stanley at NT and Hatcher at DE.

I guess I already expect a lot out of Carpenter (as he's our top pick), so I'm taking him more for granted.

As for Hatcher, the guy is big, but he's not fat. He already weighs about 280-285 lbs, runs a 4.8 40 (though not really important for a DL, but impressive none-the-less), and he appears to have natural pass rushing skills. According to the stuff I've read and heard about this guy, he's your natural 3-4 DE. I think in another year or two, he could pay real dividends.

As for Stanley, when reading stuff about all the prospective NTs we could draft, his profile really stood out to me. I had serious concerns about Gabe Watson, for example. I don't think Stanley will end up being another W. Blade either, as Stanley's motivation to play the game has never been questioned. I think he may have slipped a bit in the draft due to his injury last season.

Finally, I think K. Parham also has an excellent chance to make the club as an UDFA. His experience in the 3-4, plus playing with Groh, should give him a leg up. Unfortunately for him, his 40 time probably hurt him considerably during the draft process. But guys like Parham (who come cheap) help you spread and save your cap dollars during Free Agency.

Watkins. Been a long time since we had a safety pick off 5 passes a year.

i most excited about Green and Watkins, but if Stanley is able to come right in and fit in a rotation with Ferguson, that would be a huge steal for a 6th rounder!!

Watkins. If he turns out to be a ball-hawking centerfielder, this defense could be incredibly sick.

Since we're talking "potential," I'll say Hatcher.

Playmaking defensive ends are so rare and Dallas has certainly used plenty of high picks to try to find one.

Based on what I've read, and the Washington State coach's comments, Hatcher could really turn out to be something in a couple of years.

Green!!! You can't underestimate what an extra 10-12 yards per punt return can mean to a team. Means you are kicking 42 yd field goals instead of 50+ for a win. Not to mention changing FP which allows you to control the clock and run your entire offense. Green will be a difference maker this year, not sure any other draftee will be, this year!

I'm going to go with Hatcher as well. It sounds like this kid has the natural ability to be the best DE on the team. The only knocks on him that I've seen is that he's raw and lacks proper technique. Add the fact that Parcells said that he would turn him into a star and you can't help but be excited.

I'll say Hatcher, because he supposedly can put on 15lbs and still maintain his speed to the QB.......

Pat Watkins.. Florida State..
6'4-6'5
40 time: 4.41
vert: 41.5

This guy looks and sounds amazing.. I've been waiting for a Safety like this to come to the Cowboys. I can see him a top 10 S in a few years.. I'm just happy we got him..

I wonder what his # would be? Can't be #22 of course.. Hm..

Hatcher. Some folks are talking about him like he's a Pro Bowler in the making. It doesn't hurt that they're using Richard Seymour as a potential comparison.

The one I'll have the most fun watching is the guy in my sig. Others have more potential though.

Watkins for potential and need, though Hatcher could be a beast.

It's just been too long with a hole at FS.

The immediate contributors next year will be Carpenter (will start before year is over), Fasano (may start on opening day), Green (return man) and Watkins (special teamer).

The best player will probably be Carpenter when all is said and done - he should be our starter at OLB the next 8 years or so barring injury.

The guy with the most "potential" is Hatcher - unusual combination of size and speed - he has an uphill battle though due to playing mainly at lower levels of competition where he could get by on sheer athleticism. The DL coach will prove his worth if he can turn him into a player.
