I didn't say "rookie" because I wanted to include the free agent signings and players like Jaylon Smith.

In my opinion, these new guys are going to have to be significant contributors for us to accomplish what we want to accomplish. Most of the rookies were shelved for much of training camp. Jaylon still hasn't wowed me with any change of direction that I feel like I can count on. I think Rico is too green and someone will do something before he gets back (I hope).

So, I'm going with Taco Charlton. I felt like his strength and push improved throughout training camp. I feel like he's got a good chance to get to Manning in this first game. My second choice would actually be Rod Smith at RB. I thought he was impressive in that role.

Which new contributor do you think will make the first big play? What will they do and when will they do it?
Jaylon Smith or Stephen Paea on Defense.
Ryan Switzer on Offense (lol he's kinda the only newcomer)
Ryan Switzer on Special Teams (see above)

LB blitz, Smith sacks Eli, forcing 3&out on Giants first series, the obligatory "swoooosh" move is seen on national TV and Mara yells the F word while dining with Goodell "You didn't make up any false charges on Smith???"
How long before the special brace Jaylon is wearing becomes an unfair advantage? 4 games easy

What's the problem child's name we picked up that used to play for n.y., he got into it over some free earbuds ? Well, not him making the first big play although I expect him to make his presence known in a big way,,,, so I'm gonna say,,,Nolan Carroll on a key 3rd down pass defended
Demontre Moore...but he's not playing. Suspended for the first two games.

He'll have to be activated in order to make the big play...I don't think he will be.
You're assuming a big play will be made by a new player against the Giants. There is a much higher chance they will be made by the usual stars, Dez, Zeke, Dak, Jason, Cole. It may take another week to see a new pkayer make a big play, depending on how you define it.

I think Noah Brown will prove to have some special teams ability. I think he could be active.
