1-Bart Starrs QB sneak in the NFC Championship game-"The Icebowl"
2-Jim Obriens field goal in Super Bowl V that won the game at the end.
3-Montana to Clark NFC Championship game-"The Catch"
4-Super Bowl XIII-Jackie Smith dropping a TD catch in the endzone.

Lot of heartbreaking moments there for the fans.

5) Favre retiring. We can no longer count on a guaranteed win when he comes to Texas.

The montana catch. I was a kid and although it didnt hurt me then, By the mid 80s when I was about 10 that is all I heard about and it seemed everytime montana was talked about somehow Dallas was brought up and they were basically some kind of joke.

So the rest I was either not alive or too young.

You need to add the 94 nfc championship game in there. That is the game that most of us in our early 30s or so had to deal with.

Didn't become a football fan 'till '85-my first year in junior high.

Man I saw all these games and plays live and they all hurt.

I guess the one that bothered me the least was Super Bowl XIII-Jackie Smith dropping a TD catch in the end zone because it was not as if it was the last play of the game and Dallas had some other opportunities the last one being a failed onside kick that Randy White could not bring in because of a cast on his hand.

And the '86 reg season game at The Meadowlands-both teams were 6-2 playing for first place(along with the Skins) for NFCE supremacy(as well as NFC). Not only Danny White went down, but so did Gary Hogeboom. Nonetheless, we had a chance to win it at the end when Steve Peluer(sp) completed a pass into FG range, but was called back for holding.

If anything-this was THE turning point for both Dallas and the Giants. We went on to win only 1 more game, and Landry ended up losing control of the team, while the Giants ended up winning out all the way to the Super Bowl.

This game was pretty much the beginning of the end for the Landry era. The Skins game at RFK weeks later, where he got destroyed at halftime, pretty much put the final nail in the coffin.

all those are bad...but one play thats always forgotten is Randy White fumbling a kickoff return in that 78 Super Bowl...the Steelers scored a TD right after the play...whats so bad about is White was on the KO return team even though he had a broken arm or wrist and hada cast on....

It then all evened out when that Steelers receiver in XXX ran a bad route, TWICE, when they had our D on our heels.

To an extent I guess it evened out however the loss to the Steelers in both SB in the 70's cost Dallas some very good players from making the HOF. It shouldn't have but it has.

Which INT was the costliest for Brett "Alimighty" Favre? :lmao2:
You can choose...regular season game or playoff game... there are plenty to choose from.:lmao2:

To start a thread like this just shows that there are alot of butt nugget heads out there.

For me it would be 'The Catch' because it took the 49ers to a Dynasty, while Danny White & the Boys became Runner-ups. Was a very sad 80s. Least we picked up 2 out of 5 Super Bowls in the 70s. Though losing to the Steelers Twice didn't set well with me for a very long time.

Why don't you give them a nice papercut and pour lemon juice in it?

Heh-What ifs? To be frank-we probably would have lost to Cincy in the Super Bowl anyways. Jerry Rice would have been subsequently drafted by Cincy, and they would have gone on to be a dynasty.

Alot like how Marty had to endure "The Drive" and "The Fumble"-both were more dumb luck than choke jobs. Otherwise, he would have had at least 2 Super Bowl rings, and maybe more(assuming he still wasn't wearing that chip on his shoulder in KC/SD).

None of the above. It would be a toss up between these two.

The "Pass Interference" call on Benny Barnes against Lynn Swann in SB XIII when Swann clearly pushed Barnes to the ground and then tripped over him.

Dave Manders fumble recovery in SB V that was awarded to Baltimore even though they never had the ball.
