Which position would you be OK using a 1st round pick on?

EDITED FOR THE READING-COMPREHENSION CHALLENGED HERE:

If Dallas had the opportunity to use one of their two first round picks, TODAY, to trade for a sure, long-term starter to step-in for either Newman or Glenn, which position would you choose?

My first inclination would be CB.

Two reasons, Henry's on the backside of his usefulness IMO, and ever since the Newman injury, how, suddenly have the problems/questions with safety disappeared?

I feel we can have a pretty effective offense given our ground game, and with a good season from Owens and Witten. You'd then just have to hope that at least one of the young guys can progress further along.

I'm interested to hear your opinions.

CB all the way because of need.

However, we have been way more successful in acquiring free agent receivers than CBs. Henry vs. TO? TO all day. T. Glenn vs A. Glenn? The Terri wins that one too.

It really depends on who we could get, not what position they play.

far too early to tell, which is why we play a year of football between drafts.

CB? possible and it's moving up on the radar now. but what if our guys shine and come on during the year? what if TO goes down also and we have choices to make cause JJ falls flat?

this is all premature e-speculation and i suppose a time killer for some, but wow - let some things happen before you worry about what to do.

Neither and not because I want to horde first rounders either.

I think Newman's injury is going to force the Defensive Coaches to play more aggressively and I really want that. I think that if the players get excited about being unleashed they could carry this team.

I'm perfectly fine with giving TO, Witten, and Crayton more touches to account for Glenn's injury and seeing what we have in Hurd, Austin, and Stanback. If anything regarding WR, I'd attempt to see if Keyshawn would come back for one more year. I trust him as much as anyone we could trade for and not mortgage the farm for. Besides, it would get him off TV.

exactly. I got my ourlads 08 draft stuff a couple of days ago. their best senior corners were listes as cover 2 guys who struggle in man to man. that is what we dont want, so do you use a top 10 pick on a guy like that.

a side note it looks like there are two outstanding olb prospects in blake at tcu and the kid from auburn.

So you cant just take a position because you need it, you have to use your picks carefully and accordingly.

I'm not sure you're reading the question correctly?

I'm meaning making a trade now, not what to do with the picks at or around next draft.

Key off TV = good thing.

Key + TO = volatile situation.

Equally volatile for defenses trying to stop them.

Key definitely needs off TV. We'd be doing America a favor.
