im guessing Hill, Pollard, McGovern and the Miami CB are locks. Everyone else may get cut or put on practice squad.

For a DE to make it they’d have to take either Taco or Armstrong’s spot.

The A&M safety is in a battle with Kavon

Weber is going to be like Scarbrough. High hopes but at the end of the day he’s a JAG and will be cut. Stephen said Olawale is the 3rd back as of today. Plus Darius is still on roster.

Of the UDFAs the Toledo’s WR is intriguing but that’s a loaded position. He’d have to beat out Noah Brown or Cedric Wilson for the 6th spot.

Joe Jackson will make it. No guarantee with Taco (prob get traded). and who knows what free agent signees Covington and Hyden bring.

Weber probably beats out Jackson and the S drafted in the 6th has a fair chance of beating out Frazier.

Out of the UDFA's I think Wise has a shot of beating out Ross.
Toledo's wide receiver also has to beat out Devin Smith in addition to Brown or Wilson. I suspect he will be on the practice squad.
One of the UDFA LB's could beat out Christian Covington as well.

Wlison was playing well in camp last year before he was injured. Hope he is healthy and ready to go in camp.

I agree. I would like to see Wilson and Devin Smith get those last two spots at WR.

I think they should give Noah Brown a shot at TE.

Joe Jackson makes it and could be a steal. Don’t sleep on 7th round pick Jalen Jelks. He has David Irving’s physical attributes without the numbskull mentality. He’s a versatile player who can play special teams and that alone probably gets him a roster spot.

Taco will mentally breakdown due to so many new DE prospects already fighting for his roster spot.

50/50 on all these guys depends on how they do in training camp. They all have starter or backup grades. My favorites and the ones I'm rooting for is the last four, it was a deep draft and the Cowboys even said their board was longer than usual so they added the extra picks. Jackson, Jelks, Weber, and Wilson were great picks and I wouldn't be surprised to see them all make the team. Wilson looks like he was shot out of a cannon around the line of scrimmage, very high energy.

I’m almost thinking Taco gets traded if Jelks flashes and Armstrong improves.
Also RG could be back and we have too many numbers at DE.
Hill will make it as a rotational guy.
I see the Wr position stacked and Wilson has been forgotten about but we was a stud in college, has great size, and was balling in camp before the injury. Austin is staying too and Cobb, there’s no room at that inn. Maybe Leonior will finally get released. Ha
See Pollard making it for games but that’ll be it with Rod Smiths versatility. We aren’t going heavy at RB since Zeke never gets hurt or comes off the field.
McGovern will stick unless he’s terrible because our OL injuries really have hurt us badly in the past and who knows about Tyron’s health week to week. We will go heavy at OL.
The rest are PS players for now IMO

Rod smith isn’t on the team.

Hill: lock
McGovern: lock
Pollard: lock
Michael Jackson: 50/50 to make the team
Joe Jackson: likely practice squad player
Wilson: 50/50 to make the team.
Weber: 80% to make the team. Team views him as Zeke's direct backup, while Pollard is the all around gadget player.
Jelks: likely practice squad player

The two I listed as likely practice squad guys are two of our best value picks and could surprise in camp. Problem is, they're both DEs, and it's just a simple numbers crunch. We have so many young promising players on the D Line. Really wish we could flip Taco for a decent safety.

I think hill and McGovern and pollard are locks after that who knows going to be really competitive in ota's and training camp I think the cornerback from Kentucky has a chance to make the roster also

It’s hard to tell at this point so I’ll come back to this thread before the season starts. I like the picks but saying who’ll make it now is a little too soon IMO

Squad (53):
Hill
McGovern
Pollard
M.Jackson

Everybody else practice squad or cut:

P.S.
Wise
Weber
Westrey
J.Johnson
J.Jackson

There is zero chance the team would take the risk of trying to slip Joe Jackson on to the PS. He be almost certainly claimed. If he doesn't look to be making the team outright, we can expect him to suffer some mysterious "injury" around the end of training camp and be IR'd.
