Which Team Defense impressed you the most this year out of these 3?

Denver (Leonhard)
Minnesota (D. Jones)
Philly (Parker)

These 3, along with Gannon appear to be on their short-list of DC candidates. Something of note, Jones was their first zoom interview and is going to be their 1st in person interview, he might be the leader of the pack.

Leonhard-comes from that Vance/Rex Ryan tree (3-4)
D. Jones-Zimmer/Flores (4-3)
Parker-Fangio (3-4)

They are all considered rising stars in coaching circles and would be excellent hires.
Denver led the league in sacks at 68. I am sure that helps make a DB Coach look very good.

Minnesota they have half the talent as the others. It’s funny to me how some on the board are not giving Vance the credit for the Denver defense.

None, its talent, depth, and luck thats going to win.

I dont care how smart a player is if his body cant hold up. I dont care if you have 5 number 1 players but to dumb to play and i dont care if you have cheap guys who cant learn.

Football wins arent based on what scheme, offenses change. the speed of the game, the rules. offense is everything to the NFL because it sells the product.

Denver, not even close for me.

None of them are particularly strong in the takeaway department.

Takeaways are the most common attribute of a Super Bowl championship defense.

When you look at all regular season team rankings of Super Bowl champions, the highest average ranking belongs to takeaways.

Turnovers vary from year to year. Best defenses force teams to kick fg’s over td’s

Denver one game from the SB Philly wins the division two yrs in a row plus the SB last season so from that standpoint Jones in Minnesota with Flores seemed to school Dallas knowing the game meant much more to Dallas

Fangio has done a great job with the Eagles, people tend to forget they were dead last against the pass when he was hired. Yes they got two real good corners in the draft, but that defense has been elite since he became dc
They were fortunate that he wanted to go to Philly. Philly also gave him what he wanted: full control of the draft and as many resources as he could possibly want. I hate to say it, but Jerry doesn’t do that. Thus, I’m wary of whether the DC can come in here and work with what we’ve got.

Dc’s always have had power in picking players in the draft with the cowboys, problem is they give them too much control and not trust their scouts more

Sadly Denver is done with Nix. This is a cruel game. Kids played his heart out and to get injured like that is so sad

I would say Denver but they have the horses. Whoever built that roster deserves a lot of credit. If Leonard was part of that then kudos to him.

But I think Minnesota did mmore with less. They are nowhere near as good as Denver on defense, but they were pretty good.

The question is, given the Cowboys roster on defense, can anyone really do much? They need a serious infusion of talent with the exception of DT where they are loaded right now - assuming Jerry keeps everyone. To me the defense is a multi-year project. It would be best to hire a really good talent evaluator.

They Can’t put all their eggs in one basket & I’m not all Jim, but you need options.

I'm really starting to lean towards Jones &even Parker. the Cowboys have those 3 should be about dead even. only thing they’re waiting on is an in-person interview with Jim,

I’m not going to hate it if we lose Jim over the Playoff delay if the consolation prize is Jones or Parker.

Looks like Jones is really rising up the media and fan bases wish list,

The more they dig deeper into this guy and how he ended up where he ended up, He could be perfect for the Cowboys young, hungry he'll stay around a while trying to make a name for himself seems very hard worker dedicated...

The Cowboys focus on one of these three guys,

I don't think they can lose...

They need to do is get him some support whatever he needs to build whatever defense he envisions here, any of these three guys can work,

and I hope that's what they're doing just waiting on Jim to interview in person because I don't want to miss out,

but now that two shoes have dropped, meaning 2 head coaching positions have filled, they need to start speeding things up just a bit, not to be hasty, but they can't lose their top guy.

I don't know who that is, but I believe it's one of these three guys, Jim might have been the favorite two weeks ago ,But I believe Jones and Parker might be dead even right now....

Jones is rising fast...
