Who are some of your favorite cornerbacks we've had in this century?

You guys are missing the assignment! The OP said "this century"...meaning year 2000 and on.
I agree with T. Newman. Diggs, initially in his first years, and Jordan Lewis. I thought Orlando Scandrick was good. I like Bland. I hope he can stay away from the injury bug.
Ah, I mistakenly went back 100m yrs. Ooops.

Ok gotcha. Then I'd say Newman. Roy Williams too, before the dang Roy Williams rule was created.

Played for what 15 years? I'd say that's very significant. Rare air. He was a guy who you tell him where you need him, he'll do it. He never asked for clarity or more money. Dude loved ball. He played cb a bit, safety, linebacker, nickel, ST, anywhere. He was a datgum DAWG.
Absolutely!!!! But, he wasn't a corner.

Jourdan Lewis and Bland.
Looks like the injuries have impacted Bland.
Lewis phenomenal tackler.
Chidobe Awuzie was promising too. We just didn't have him long enough.
Lewis and Awuzie were taken in same draft........

Bland was a beast for about 2 years. Now he's cooked. His career might be over.

TNew easily tops the list.

Who's 2nd? Tough one. Anthony Henry and Brandon Carr were both actually good #2 type CBs.

I might have to go w/ Gilmore and Glenn.
Carr was getting burned too much. Henry was a DAWG.

This century, what comes to mind isn't great. I defer to what our CZ poster, @Bobhaze had to say on the matter. That's the best reply I've seen on this topic so far.

Tells you the state of CB when Newman is a favorite.....Jordan Lewis was only one I can think of, I was not a big fan of Scandrick.

If you can't tell, I'm hangry for some dang great safeties lol. We been in a long dry spell at safety. So I just kinda included them

The fact that I had to stop and really think about it says a lot about our lack of defensive talent the last 25 years.

With that I will weigh in on the better CBs we’ve had…
  • Terrance Newman- great speed and coverage skill; developed over time into an outstanding corner as evidenced by his long career.
  • Jourdan Lewis - not the most physically gifted but solid as a rock, great in slot coverage and an excellent tackler.
  • Deron Bland - good not great. Does much better in man coverage and has great ball skills.
The “honorable mentions - Trevon Diggs- was good for about 3 years. Knee injuries and lazy habits hurt him. Chidobe Awuzie - a good not great corner. Just a sold player, not spectacular.
Jerry dont know how to pick a corner back. Except for Deion. Even though he wasn't drafted by Dallas. I have watched games from 2008 to now. Defensive backfield has stunk for a while.
