I'm assuming it's:

DE: Mincey
DT: Crawford
DT: Melton
DE: Spencer

What happens when Lawrence comes back?

Calling all the Zone experts, who has played good/bad? Why are we getting so little sacks?

Were getting so little sacks because we don't have any talent at DE. Lawrence can't be expected to miss the entire training camp and preseason and walk in mid season and start effectively as a rookie. Anybody who judges him on his play this year isn't being fair.

Whoever you want to annoint as the starting four, its not good enough and must be addressed in the off season.

agree with RS...this group as constructed, needs to apply pressure up the middle, stop the run as much as possible and contain on the outside...getting sacks is almost like gravy at this point...man, I do love gravy

Well its pretty bad when our linebackers have more sacks than the DL. In a 4-3 I must say.

We are on pace for 16 sacks this season tied for 3rd worst. Pathetic!

and we are 5-1, with the "1" being a benny hill-like goofball performance against the 49ers....stats mean nothing as long as you are winning

Bull^^^^^. This D line contained and shut down the NFL's new do it all golden boy in Wilson. Compare his stats to the previous week. I'm assuming you think Kerrigan and Orakpo are decent.

Mincy, Spencer, and Crawford got pressure all day and especially when it counted.

This is the type of talk that makes a
"Eat Crow" thread that Should be titled "I'm not as knowledgable about football as I think"thread.

Ware for Mincy is a win in the long term. Which is how many complainers said we should be thinking.

S.o.s for some.

By November, Spencer and Crawford are 2 guys i'm pretty certain will be starting and getting the majority of snaps at their respective positions. Melton, Mincey, Selvie and Brent would fall into the next group as far as snap #. Then Lawrence and McClain will fill out the rest.

Let's remember that Seattle was without their starting All Pro center Max Unger. Not saying that he was the sole reason we were able to get some pressure, but we only know too well that having bad center play can and has been used as an excuse.

I don't expect Lawrence to be starting I think Dallas will ease him in and get him out there in more obvious passing situation. How he performs in those situation will help determine how much to increase his snaps.

so far the starters (in for the games first play) have been Selvie, Crawford, Hayden and Mincey.
Crawford and Mincey have gotten by far the most snaps of any of the linemen.
Selvie and Spencer have rotated at LDE, and Seattle was the first game that Spencer has gotten more snaps than Selvie.
Melton has mainly been used as a designated pass rusher for about 20 snaps a game.
Crawford and Melton have both been good on the inside at generating pressure, Crawford good in run d as well.
I thought Spencer has had two good games (out of three since he's been back). Good as always against the run and bothered Wilson a lot against Seattle.
Mincey and Selvie have both been good Run defenders. Mincey has had some games (like Seattle) where he's consistently gotten good pressure, others where he hasn't shown much. overall I'd say he's been solid.
I've thought Selvie has been a disappointment as a pass rusher after last years performance.
Hayden is what he is, overmatched too much of the time.
McClain has fought through injuries and just hasn't gotten many snaps yet.

I say he be worked in slow. But I agree with RS he cannot be judged too hard this year after his injury.

Think this is it whe they go too nickel but then again we have a nice rotation out there never see same group 2wice in a row. And when Lawrence comes back Id leave Crawford or bring in Mincey, Spencer and Lawrence on the outside, it gonna be fun problem for Marinelli.

Technically, Selvie was the starter at LDE, but Spencer was the more effective at that spot against the Seahawks. Also, Spencer played more snaps than Selvie.

Hayden and T. Crawford were the staring DTs, but Melton played almost as many snaps as Hayden.

If D-Law had been available, he would have replaced Lavar Edwards on the game-day roster.

Anthony Spencer 29
George Selvie 22
Jeremy Mincey 42
Lavar Edwards 5

Tyrone Crawford 37
Nick Hayden 27
Henry Melton 24

Having a healthy and deep rotation is far more important than worrying who's listed as a starter.

This is the jist of it here. We have a bevy of solid rotational players. If we could add a couple of legitimate playmakers, the line would start to resemble Jimmy's lines in the 90s.

They need Lawrence to become a decent pass rusher and they need to add another.

At DT... I think we'll have more feedback on this by the end of the season. Crawford is looking good at DT. If Coleman/Bishop show some ability, DT may not be as much of need.
