He was projected a high first-round pick that fell and Dallas needed DL help and was, based on potential, one of the best pass rushers available.

And he was already showing promise until he has the high-ankle sprain.

The idea he wasn't on the draft of the team and was solely a Jerry Jones move is a wild assumption.

It's clear Dallas was looking to shore up their weaknesses in pass protection, considering they went Jones and Gregory.
