Who do you think really called the plays today?

Absolutely loved seeing Dez moved around and lined up in the slot and not just outside with a corner in front of him, a safety over top of him, and the sideline beside him.

It's like they needed to see people piss and moan about it on here just to try it lol

Maybe because Tony isn't a coach and has no experience putting together a gameplan or making adjustments on the fly.

Which is why Jerry was dumb in allowing romo to have this much control of the offense.

The guy really believes he's a Peyton manning pedigree or something

Interesting. Wonder why the play calling has been even worse than normal this year?

I hadn't thought about it before , but it might be a factor if they've given Tony more responsibility over which of the calls he goes with, that he actually had some tendencies that DCs were picking up on that we've had to unravel a bit.

Well we don't really know that it was the case that Tony was calling the plays all this year either.. its just what Jerry wants us to believe.

For all we know Callahan or JG could have been calling the plays all year, too. Or a combination of the 3.

I'm fairly sure that's just another silly Jerry quote. Even if he literally could do anything he wants, I'm sure he leaves a great number of the calls alone. And I'm pretty sure even the most ardent Romo haters would rather have him calling the plays during the final minute drives than Garrett/Callahan. Jerry is just puffing up Romo's ego.

Well, yeah. I'm sure it's overblown, because it's Jerry talking. But to whatever extent Romo does have autonomy, it's possible he's got some tendencies that have become apparent over time.

On the last drive I definitely saw Garrett looking at the play sheet and calling something in. So he was doing it by that time. Maybe the whole game.

He doesn't need more responsibility than that which he already has. They should have simplified his role a long time ago. Either he's scared or over thinking the past 2 seasons. I tend to think he's over thinking because way too much is placed infront of him before each snap (consistently snapped at 1-2 seconds on play clock)

I've heard before, they give him anywhere from 2-3 plays everytime and he can audible based on the defensive package.

Sounds plausible. But I don't think that's any different from what he's been doing for years now. Plus, there is an expected outcome in those kind of situations that has nothing to do with the quarterback. The plays are designed to be executed a certain way, and ideally Bill, Tony and Jason would all make the exact same call if you quizzed them independently. There's no independent thought from Romo, just discernment and decision making. Jerry's quote makes it sound like Tony gets the call, and says, "to heck with this" and just throws in an entirely different formation, play, etc. Maybe he can do that, I don't know. I just find it hard to believe that even if he does do it, that he's doing it all the time and is in effect our offensive coordinator.
