Leonhard is a hot name that would probably get a HC opportunity next year if the D shows a big improvement. That's something Jerry doesn't want, another 1 year DC. Ryan ain't getting any HC opportunities. Whitecotton would provide continuity, but that might not be a good thing.

I’m not ruling Ulbrich out yet. Still a decent chance he ends up being let go by the Falcons.

And of all of these choices Flores, Leonhard and Schwartz are the only 3 I’d really be happy with.

With my very limited knowledge, I voted Leonhard, based on really liking the Broncos Defense and the fact the he and Schotty know each other.

Also, Jerry seems open to changing things up. He started last season by hiring Schotty in the first place, making him a first-time HC, instead of a opting for a re-tread HC like he did with McCarthy. In the PC he said it is not a mandatory prerequisite that the new DC be a former DC, which Leonhard is not.

I would like Flores but consensus seems to be he's trying to get a HC job instead of moving laterally.

As for Whitecotton, it wouldn't totally surprise me but I don't think Jerry wants to merely promote a coach who was part of this historically bad 2025 Defense.

That's what I'm leaning towards as well.....It's gonna be a Schotty hire.....Now do I like it????? Not really....Not a fan of the 3-4.....But if you look @ our personnel .....We are probably better built for that defense than running a 4-3. We need DEs in the worst way to get to the QB....but drafting those...are hard to come by. Now finding edge LBers......That's a heck of a lot easier
