This will make 4 DC's in 4 years. They are obviously doing something wrong. So IMHO, they need to stop pigeon holing themselves into only hiring former head coaches and rather start looking at proven leaders of men, who can coach players into improvement. Regardless of their notoriety or past accolades. I don't want another re-tread ex-head coach with a defensive back ground just because. I want a guy who commands respect and will make his players better. A man who can get the players to run through a brick wall for him.
If that guy happens to be a past head coach, fine I don't care. But if he is just an up and coming assistant, a college coach or someone you've never heard of, I don't care about that either. Just get me that guy, from where ever you can find him, and I will be happy.

So I ask you guys for some names of men who might fit my wish list.
I think Jim Leonhard and Brian Flores fit the mold.
Who else?

I'm changing my mind.

The Jerry trend is to hire recently fired head coaches. It'll be Gannon or Morris.

This is not my list as I focused on creating a list from the suggestions by members in my previous thread.

More coaches may be added to the list as the Cowboys do more interviews or new potential candidates get mentioned regularly in the media.

If you think the next DC is a coach not on the list, feel free to write in your prediction in a post and at some point, the name(s) may be added to the poll list.

Update-1: I did not add coaches who are still under contract as HC or DC for NFL teams for the 2026-2027 season since they are not available at this time.

** The names are listed in alphabetical order based on first name!

I was not offended, but it's common here for members to attack things I post when I rarely take a strong stance on anything non-site-related as I have no desire to convince anyone of anything.

In this case, I went out of my way to ask the members who they wanted in this poll in a previous thread just as I am doing for the second upcoming poll because I knew if I hand-picked the names myself then some members would likely complain about the names I chose.

So when you showed up and attacked the list I curated from the members as if I picked the names, you can understand why I pointed out why that was not accurate especially when I stated all of it in the first post of this thread.
The game is rigged. You cant win.

This "continuity" thing is just a myth that Jerry was floating to see if he could get away with keeping Eberflus.

The Eagles have had 5 different OCs in 5 years, and yet they have won a Super Bowl recently, and been in the playoffs frequently.

I want to be cynical and say it will be someone like Whitecotton, but the Cowboys do seem to be looking hard with the updates everyone is posting here.
