Nearly in every post, message board or Cowboys site the only thing yall talk about is how Jerry needs to step down as GM. So my question is who do you want? As Jerry said if he did get one they would answer to him so what's the point? But with that said who is this miracle man that yall feel is our there's?

Scott P. Ex patriots GM failed in Kansas City

Mike Holmgren failed in Cleveland

No successful GM from another team is going to leave their contending team to come to Dallas (this isn't coaching)

So who do you think Is gonna "save" this team?

Good question. I personally know the Cowboys will never get another one till Jurrah is pushing daisies.
But producing the same results year after year and not even attempting to make the change really sucks.
it couldn't get any worse.

Question is irrelevent. We know who the GM is and we know who his succesor will be.

Very true...but this thread will get answers of GM's already under contract, or retread GM's. I'm sure there will be a few bring in Jimmy Johnson answers too.
then there will be Jason Garrett can't manage the game clock comment too.

Is there anyone out there that could be a GM, someone on a team that could be brought in. I have no idea. Even though I agree, it's irrelevent, but the thread is asking a question, even though hypothetical. It's the off season...for us anyway...

It's answers like this which are the reason why this post was made. So since we aren't in the playoffs Jerry needs to step down? Did he need to step down in 92? 93? 95? What about when we lost to the seahawks in the playoffs?

Did he need to step down when we beat the Eagles in the playoff in 2009?

If you hired any of the guys you just mentioned, or basically any functional personnel man and gave him SEVENTEEN YEARS as GM, he would as least get to a conference championship game.

I think you could hire someone with a statistical background and no prior knowledge of football and they would figure things out and outperform Jerry eventually.

A computer programmer could probably create a system that would outperform Jones as well.

So there's my list: anyone presently employed in the NFL, nerds, and robots.

YES he should have stepped down. Jerry and that idiot Switzer basically "proved" their point by winning in 95, at that point it was time to step aside and let the professionals take over.

And Jerry, the GM brought in Deion that year, and he helped win that SB.
Jerry the GM, took away Deion from SF, who without him, wouldn't have won the SB they did. As he wouldn't have been able to arm bar Irvin in a no call...anyway.
JJ the GM took him away from SF, brought him here, we won the following SB....

Thank you Jerry the GM for that....

Not easy to find one that wants to punch a time card.

I just typed "NFL personnel man" into google, the first name that I saw was Jason Licht, VP player personnel of the Arizona Cardinals.

So I'd hire him.

Ha ha ha! I can see an NFL owner doing that.

"Go google NFL Personnel man and bring me the top three results. NOW!"

Google is now everyone's analytical team.

Yes Jerry, thank you so much for identifying Deion Sanders as top end talent. We really pulled one over on the league there, he was flying under the radar and we snatched him right up. I also heard that he was a great guy in the locker room, you can't put a price on bringing that kind of character on board.

It was also very smart to give him an absurd signing bonus which directly led to us losing several talented players through FA.

I thought of another possible GM hire: what about a monkey throwing feces?? On draft day set the draft board up and just let bubbles fire away.

Could not possibly be worse than 2009.

With Jerry as the owner it doesn't matter who would have the GM title, Much like it doesn't matter who has the HC title.
