Who do you want as GM?

Will McClay

Is already working in Jerry's eat and trying to change things up.

This. I have really liked what he was able to accomplish as the pro personnel director this last season. Seems like the whole draft process has really come around for us since JG has been head coach. Will McClay is a big part of that IMO.

Yes Jerry, thank you so much for identifying Deion Sanders as top end talent. We really pulled one over on the league there, he was flying under the radar and we snatched him right up. I also heard that he was a great guy in the locker room, you can't put a price on bringing that kind of character on board.

It was also very smart to give him an absurd signing bonus which directly led to us losing several talented players through FA.

I thought of another possible GM hire: what about a monkey throwing feces?? On draft day set the draft board up and just let bubbles fire away.

Could not possibly be worse than 2009.

This is why these kind of posts have no credibility, saying crap like this. Really telling us something.

Its not my job to come up with a qualified guy. I expect the Executive Management of the team to do an extensive and exhaustive search to find the right guy. Maybe even bring someone on board short term that had tons of success in the league (as coach or GM) to lead the search. Right now, it is crystal clear that Executive Management has not done this search and we do not have the best guy possible.

I say we take him out back and beat the crap out of him. That'll learn him.

As long as Jimmy Johnson built the team for them, yes they would have won 3 Superbowls. Probably more like 4 of 5. Even Bubbles the monkey would have known not to hire Switzer.

I don't know who Bubbles the Monkey is, but he sounds hilarious... Sign him up...

Who for GM??? I would say Garrett because it would get him off the sidelines, but I am sure he would just screw up the time management somehow by talking to a FA too early or something like that.;)

I've asked this very question here at this site to many JJ complainers. Not one has mentioned a name other than "someone like Ted Thompson or Ozzie Smith."

The biger question in my opinion is what makes a good GM. Former player? Former coach? Former scout? Former cap manager? All of the above?

Jerry Jones has spent the last 20+ years eating, drinking (opportunity for JJ haters to insert joke) and sleeping football. Yeah, he has made some mistakes but all do. He also has made some good decisions. GMs, like any CEO, get too much credit when things go well and too much blame when things go wrong.

I think JJ's biggest fault is that he is too loyal to players and too nice to his stars.

That's my pick, too.

Otherwise, I'd go with Risen, although I don't think he could handle working for Jerry. At least we'd have the best OL/DL in the league.

I don't know, but I think "Arkansas oil man who's never played, coached, or scouted in the NFL" is pretty far down on the list.

And I'd totally take Ozzie Smith over Jerry Jones, the guy has 12 gold gloves or something.

There might be a killing if Risen had to work with Jerry daily.;)

Nearly in every post, message board or Cowboys site the only thing yall talk about is how Jerry needs to step down as GM. So my question is who do you want? As Jerry said if he did get one they would answer to him so what's the point? But with that said who is this miracle man that yall feel is our there's?

Scott P. Ex patriots GM failed in Kansas City

Mike Holmgren failed in Cleveland

No successful GM from another team is going to leave their contending team to come to Dallas (this isn't coaching)

So who do you think Is gonna "save" this team?

thats the idea...lets not even try.

Steve Kiem, John Schneider, Ozzie Newsome, Dave Gettleman, or Ted Thompson. I don't have a reason to know all the rising underlings.
