I still think they keep Pat Watkins. I also still think Ellis doesn't make it out of camp as a cowboy, one way or the other.

Carp isn't going anywhere considering how young our depth at LB is after the starters and Ellis (who I think is gonna be gone).

Brown will be gone also.

There has been talk that they might give Holland some snaps at center. I would think depending on how the competition goes between Kosier and Holland that Kosier could also see some time at center. If either of those guys show they can play center then there would be no reason to keep Proctor. (Its a long shot but we can hope)

I still don't consider Corey Procter to be safe.

He is very limited and easy to exploit if forced into the line-up.

If Montrae Holland mounts a real challenge for Kyle Kosier's guard spot, Kosier could end up being our utility interior reserve. We will also look at Ryan Gibbons and other as alternatives as center/guard reserves.

He's one of our guys so you know he sucks. We've saw enough of him last season. I couldn't believe they resigned him. Awful player.

Kosier gets a spot as long as he's healthy enough. You're forgetting he went on IR. Holland gets a spot. Brewster. The other four starters. That leaves 1-4 more spots for the OL I'm guessing 9-10.

Who's going to be the backup center if you cut Procter. I hope Procter cranks it up a few notches at least or they find a backup center but until then no way he's cut. Can you imagine Romo taking shotgun snaps from someone perhaps worse than Gurode?

Whoever makes the cut.

Ideally, I'd like to see Montrae Holland show some fire and become the starting left guard. That would allow Kyle Kosier to become a valuable interior utility man on game day.

But Kosier is a technician and I worry about Holland's "want to." I don't think the staff would ask Holland to learn the pivot.

It would then come down to one of the other young linemen showing enough in camp and pre-season to facilitate Proctor's release.

Ryan Gibbons was on the practice squad last year and will be worked at both guard and center. Other long shots include Matt Spanos, Greg Isdaner and Travis Bright.

Proctor is a liability as an in line blocker whenever he gets isolated and I don't think we'd ever try to get away with starting him at guard again for any reason. The weakness might not be notable when at center, but opponents would know to exploit it from watching '08 game film.

I don't think too much of Proctor but I continue to maintain he's better than awful overall. There has to be a reason for him to stay on the team. I mean if they can cut TO they should be able to cut Proctor. I think if they are reasonably certain someone can backup C/G esp center then he may not make it. Again he is not starting material based on his past performances and he is not the ideal backup where the dropoff is not that noticeable either. We could certainly upgrade that position. And unless he picks it up considerably then I think he's wasting a roster spot if not this year then next. We just need to have a better backup at C/G.

We are screwed if Procotr has to play center.I think Watkins is on the bubble too-too injury prone if you ask me.

You? I was almost sure we wouldn't be talking about Procter at all at this time, except for some random jokes. Now, the jokes on us.

I think Carpenter could be an odd man out. I wouldn't be shocked if Ball didn't make it in the end with what we've brought in.

I could see Ellis being traded or cut by the end of camp as well.
