There has been talk that they might give Holland some snaps at center. I would think depending on how the competition goes between Kosier and Holland that Kosier could also see some time at center. If either of those guys show they can play center then there would be no reason to keep Proctor. He is very limited and easy to exploit if forced into the line-up.
If Montrae Holland mounts a real challenge for Kyle Kosier's guard spot, Kosier could end up being our utility interior reserve. We will also look at Ryan Gibbons and other as alternatives as center/guard reserves.

Ideally, I'd like to see Montrae Holland show some fire and become the starting left guard. That would allow Kyle Kosier to become a valuable interior utility man on game day.
But Kosier is a technician and I worry about Holland's "want to." I don't think the staff would ask Holland to learn the pivot.
It would then come down to one of the other young linemen showing enough in camp and pre-season to facilitate Proctor's release.
Ryan Gibbons was on the practice squad last year and will be worked at both guard and center. Other long shots include Matt Spanos, Greg Isdaner and Travis Bright.
Proctor is a liability as an in line blocker whenever he gets isolated and I don't think we'd ever try to get away with starting him at guard again for any reason. The weakness might not be notable when at center, but opponents would know to exploit it from watching '08 game film.
You? I was almost sure we wouldn't be talking about Procter at all at this time, except for some random jokes. Now, the jokes on us.burmafrd;2780751 said:I cannot believe we could not find SOMEONE better then Proctor.
