I don't know for sure. I don't follow the arena leagues much.

must not be a QC fan then...:lmao2:

seriously, while I appreciate what Coach Joe brought in terms of enthusiam, I don't think he's the answer. I'd prefer someone fresh, hungry, and ready to light things up in the league. Our ST play has been dismal for a long time, which is frustrating since we've had some playmakers.

I doubt Bruce Read is going anywhere this year. No matter how dissatisfied we may be with him.

that's right, Wade has a hang-up about firing special teams coaches lol

I wouldn't say who even if someone guessed. If the person I got this from wishes to come forward that is his/her business.

Clearly the person who has "first hand knowledge" knows what they are talking about so the subject might as well be dropped.

Let's put it this way - when was the last time someone from Valley Ranch uttered his name in public? I'm pretty sure the blood thirsty mediots would be all over this story if there was even a hint of Joa A's possible return.

This was a good post and seems to be a good clue...........

Interesting.

After he was was not retained by Bill Parcells, I remember how angrily he responded to the transaction when some reporters got him on the record outside of Valley Ranch.

To paraphrase, after being queried by the Press on whether or not the decision not to keep him centered on the new regime wanting more low profile guys on the Coaching Staff, in that old crusty voice of his that everyone so fondly was used to, Joe Avezzano proudly proclaimed, "Well if that is the reason then to hell with it then"

The suspense is killing me, but I have feeling you will remain silent on this.

Your a good man Hostile.

A few years ago when I worked for Franklin Covey Company I learned that the measure of a man is how he honors and respects a person when they are not present. Then you know how you will be treated you are not present.

Nice Integrity there Mike. :)

The special teams were bad the last couple of years Avezzano was in Dallas. The special teams need to improve, but Joe A is not the answer.

Did McBriar have an off year? I know he set the bar pretty high in 2006, but he did well in 2007.

2004
42.5 yards per punt
37.0 net yards per punt

2005
42.4 yards per punt
39.4 net yards per punt

2006
48.2 yards per punt
38.6 net yards per punt

2007
47.1 yards per punt
38.5 net yards per punt
That net goes up if the coverage teams were better this year.

whoever it is, agree that the special teams, based on the giants game, were very disappointing

I hate our special teams.....no offense to the handicapped, but our special teams is more like the special olympics. There is nothing special about our kick coverage or kick returns. Even McBriar had an off year. IMO, Folk was the lone bright spot of the entire Special Teams play. Austin did ok as a returner, but he didn't do anything really special this year.

I want us to put the Special back in Special Teams. I want Joe A back. I want his fire and passion. I want his technique and attention to detail. I want his Championship experience.

Who else is with me?

Yeah lets bring him back....

and dont forget....

lets have a BIG Press Conference announcing it too

:laugh2:

Avezzano went to the media with every bit of info he had.

BP dumped him because of that and he took it harshly.
JJ liked him but didn't save him.

Joe A. is a good coach and the media loves him but he isn't a savior or our special teams and I'd rather not see him back.

Now you know you've just opened yourself up for many questions don't you? ;)

I understand, but I will never give up a source ever again. I did once for Brandon Everage's agent. I wish I had never revealed how I knew Everage was in Oxnard to work out for the Cowboys. Even though no other news source had the info, not even the DC.com folks. I was accused of lying on other web sites. It didn't even matter that I had corroborating reports from 2 of our more reputable members. One who worked for the Cowboys at the time.

So, you can ask who my source is, and I will evade the question.

I think it's moot anyway, because I don't believe Wade has any intention of firing Bruce Read.

Joe Avezzano will never work in the NFL again.

This is a much more accurate statement.

The dude is a nice enough guy, albeit, terribly full of himself. His coaching skills? Well, that's another story.
