Dak Prescott or Baker Mayfield? I was just looking up Mayfield to see how he has been performing, and his numbers compared to Dak.
Mayfield (played one less game then Dak)
    Passing yds:1768
    Passing Tds: 10
    Ints: 7
Mayfield is averaging 255 yards a game, and only has one game with less than 200 yards passing
On pace for 4041 yards passing, 23 passing tds, and 13 ints.

    Prescott
    Passing yds:1660
    Passing Tds: 10
    Ints:5
Prescott is averaging 3320 yards passing, 20 passing tds, and 10 ints.

He is being out performed by a rookie qb

well, the browns are treating Mayfield as the future....so is Dallas....so what is the difference?

the FO....that of the Browns just canned their HC because they have had enough and don't want to stunt the growth of Mayfield; Dallas? yeah, we clap a lot

Wow. So you're saying, Dak could play at his current level and still have decent looking numbers...

Mayfield also has close to 30 more attempts in one less game. There is a difference in offensive philosophy.

Quit picking and choosing your stats. They don't tell the whole story.

Mayfield has 265 attempts in one fewer game than Prescott who has only 237 attempts.

Kind of changes things don't you think?

I didn't think Mayfield had the discipline to be a good NFL QB. So far, he's proving me wrong.

their coaching staff trusts Mayfield...and if we threw that much more, people here would clamour why aren't we running the ball...that already happened...and when we do run more, they say why aren't we passing the ball

...and Dak has the benefit of already playing in ~32 more NFL games than Baker, so yeah, it does change perspectives a bit.

Thats only 28 attempts more. Which is about a game difference, so it kind of evens them out. Mayfield still performing a bit better

Not really. The title of the thread says "who ends up with better numbers" meaning this year. 1 year or 10 years into the league doesn't matter when specifically talking about this year.

No it doesn't. Mayfield already has more attempts in 1 fewer game than Dak.

Mayfield is averaging 37.8 passes a game. Dak is averaging 29.6 passes a game.

Who do you think should have higher passing numbers? Yeah, Mayfield.

Especially when considering the Cowboys don't push the ball down the field very often.

Mayfield is overrated and will be a bust, regardless of what Dak is.

The fact Mayfield is a rookie QB versus Dak, a young vet, is part of the context of the question as it relates to their respective production totals for this season.

Too early to tell. Your comparing Dak to a rookie QB who's coaches were so at odds their GM fired the HC and OC.

Yes but to be fair (as we are constantly reminded here) we need to be sensitive to the tough hand Dak has been dealt.

He has to toil away behind a top 10 offensive line and a top 5 rusher

He wasn't blessed like Mayfield to end up on a team that literally went 0-16 last year
