Who exactly has the mental edge, DAL or NYG?

I keep reading comments by Cowboys fans claiming that the Cowboys may have a mental let-down and be complacent after that exhilarating win over Seattle, while the Giants will be angry and fired-up after being crushed in Philadelphia, thus giving the mental edge to the Giants.

Sounds logical, but if it were roles reversed, those same Dallas fans would probably be talking about how the Cowboys, coming off of a devastating 27-0 defeat, just had their spirits crushed and deflated while the Giants, fresh off a stunning 30-23 upset win over the defending champions, would be brimming with confidence and ready to smash any opponent.

So, let's settle this once and for all. Just who exactly has the mental edge? The team that just won big? Or the team that just lost big?

(This isn't a rhetorical question, it's a genuine one.)

There's no doubt to me.

The Cowboys just went to the toughest stadium in the league and flat-out whipped the Super Bowl Champions. They are and should be confident.

The Giants just got flat-out embarrassed on national television in a game that they were never in. On top of it, they lost their best receiver and the Eagles gave the rest of the league the blueprint for beating them.

These Cowboys have suffered to many letdowns and had too many struggles and disappointments to allow themselves to be complacent.

This thing looks like a boulder rolling downhill, gaining momentum, I don't see them letting this Giants team stop it.

argument could be made on both the team coming off a big win and the team fighting for their lives coming off an embarrassing game. What I hope to see is Cowboys stadium rocking as fans welcome home the Cowboys. I think this team would love nothing more than to have the fan base turn out in big numbers screaming their heads off after having to beg fans in the 1st 3 home game to cheer.

The team that has the edge is the team that most forgets about the last game and worries about this one. :)

There should be a mind set in that locker room that we have proved nothing... you may have beat LAST years SB champs but all in all that didn't win you the SB...

We still need that chip on our shoulder and keep our eye on the prize which is winning the NFC east then handling our business in the playoffs

a good argument can be made for both

but in situations like this, I give the edge to the team with nothing to lose. The Giants.

Cowboys should be riding high on confidence. Downside is they might be eating the cheese and got full of themselves and lost some of that chip on their shoulder.
Giants should be embarrassed after last week and down. Upside is they might be pissed and looking to prove the naysayers wrong.

Both. None. Either or. Depends on focus and mental toughness. Hopefully it is the Cowboys.

The hallmark of Jason Garrett teams is beating the teams they should beat, and losing to teams that are better than they are. This limping Giants team is a team we should beat, soundly.
We've got the advantage in every way I can see heading into this game. It's a limping conference matchup against a nemesis who's derailed other good Cowboys teams in the past. It's a team that broke in our new stadium for us, and won't let us forget it. 5-1 or not, we've got another division opponent neck-and-neck with us, so there's no temptation for a let-down. It's our first division game of the season and a perfect opportunity for a letdown. Their OL is not very good, and their secondary is exposed.

This one ought to be a butt kicking. If it's not, we're losing the turnover battle by 3 or more. I'm not saying it's a win, but I'm saying it really ought to be one.

I'm not going to lie, I thought the Giants would be their usual, loudmouth selves especially coming off that blowout. It's just how they are as a team.

I don't know if it's because the Eagles humbled them so badly after a week of smack talk or the emotional shot of losing Victor Cruz (one of the good guys on the team) in such a devastating way, but they've been extremely quiet. Even Rolle has been nothing but diplomatic.

I can't get a read on them at all, which is unsettling.

We're the more talented team. We're playing better than they are. We have fewer injuries. We're playing at home. We should win the game period. If we lose, it will be because we didn't execute.

Jason Garrett seems to keep his team even tempered. And no reason to think he will let them get ahead of themselves or overlook any team.
he giants may think, even though they may not be talking, they still have our number here. But they will be facing an entirely different team and demeanor. And will soon realize that.

I think we have the mental edge.

Manning is 4-1 at AT&T Stadium. First divisional game. This will be drilled into the team, I see no reason for a letdown.

Dwayne Harris fumbling punts this week? There is way they could lose the game.

Cruz playing?

I just don't believe that getting spanked on national TV makes the Giants somehow better. If anything they lack confidence right now and if the Cowboys are what we think they are then they should take it to them early and often leaving no doubt who the better team is. If the Cowboys don't do this, then we have some problems of our own that have nothing to do with the Giants.

We have the edge mentally and physically. Our guys are playing as one and for one another. They're playing selfless and with some grit.

Our boys want the Giants!

The Giants on the other hand aren't in sync on offense. Eli can't trust that line and the second we get some pressure on him he'll begin to break.
