Who is currently the best player in the NFCE? Who currently has the best career?

Don't confuse the importance of the position w/ rating the player. There's not a Qb in this division who makes the top 5 on his own team.

Cowboys: Tyler Smith, Tyler Booker, Lamb, Q, Beebe, and possibly Javonte. EZ might be headed that way. Overshown would be on the list if he could stay on the field.
Jayden Daniels does. Other than McLaurin and Wagner, who else? That team doesn’t have much top end talent.

Bobby Wagner would be my pick. He is older than most and puts up insane production. He had over 150 tackles last year. That is 3 times more than what Kenneth Murray had which is our leading tackler.
Kenneth Murray is no Bobby Wagner.

Wagner is a real dawg. Wish we had some on this defence.

Disagree. Jayden was good, not awesome.

Top WASH players:

Lattimore
Sainristil
Bobby Wagner
Josh Conerly
Terry McLaurin
Zach Ertz

Other questionable ones also.

Sainristil—ranked in the bottom 25th percentile of CB’s last year, gave up 10 TD’s and a lot of yards,
Lattimore—ranked in the bottom 25 percentile of CB’s last year. Played less so he gave up less, but had a number of very poorly graded games.
Josh Conerly—Allowed eight sacks and 29 pressures. He would be roasted on our boards with those stats.
Zach Ertz—Middle of the pack TE, he is getting up there in years. Ranked in the bottom 50%.
McLaurin and Wags I already noted as top talent.

We definitely have a different opinion on what constitutes top end talent.

Give Hurts our defense and watch those wins disappear. I think he's a good QB, his success speaks loudly, but I can't ignore the circumstances of his success. He has been blessed with very good to excellent rosters. His tendency to have bad stretches during the season puts a lot of pressure on the defense. Lucky for him, his team has a real NFL defense.
DAK at least twice in his career had a top 10 defense and offense and did nothing with it.

You can hypothetically cherry pick any situation. Give Jordan Steph Curry or the Bad Boys defense he maybe wins 10 championships.

You cant say what Dak or Hurts would or wouldn't do in reverse situations bc there is no way to quantifiy it realistically.

In reality. Hurts has won and been to Super Bowls when he has had top 10 units for his defense and offense. Dak has not.

Those are just the facts.

Nah, I'm just not a WASH fan, so I listed guys who were good. Apparently "were" is the key word. Of course, if you're going just by last season, then Jayden doesn't even make the top 20 on their team!!!!

Had the crew and friends over last night for a 70th birthday party, and the questions were raised.

The career question came to consensus fairly quickly. Lane Johnson was the answer. Might be first ballot HoF.

But the current best player was a lively debate. I made my case for CDL. Here is a list of names that was tossed into the pile and discussed, with comments I recall:

CD--My homer pick. Consistent performer besides a few drops, he must be planned for by opposing DC's.
Dak--Regular season stats monster, very little post-season success
Hurts--Post-season beast, regular season meh
Lane Johnson--getting old but a healthy Lane is a brick wall that stones everyone
Jaydon Daniels--promising up and coming QB, needs to show his rookie season was no fluke
Bobby Wagner--just consistently very good all-around
Zach Baun--Showed how much of a mistake the Saints made not giving him a chance
Tyron Smith--Down year for a top five guard in the league
Quinyon Mitchell--Needs a few more years? He earned his 1st team AP selection
George Pickens--Clearly an incredible talent when given the chance to shine, but does take off on occasion
Jordan Mailata--One of the best LT's in the game, will give up the occasional pressure to a small speed rusher-type player that can duck under his massive frame.
Brian Burns--D-line beast that can change a game.
Jaxson Dart--Next best QB in the NFCE?
Malik Nabors--Might be the most skilled WR but needs to stay healthy

Opinions? No consensus pick was chosen.

Yeah.

If you have an ounce of hope you might wanna steer clear of that Google search.

Especially when you take into account QBs with their original team that drafted them.
Add to that: How big is the list for QBs who havent had any success before their 33rd ?

Oh, I know, but if what he claimed is true, then where's the help for the brotherhood?
I think at their brotherhood meeting they decided that Dak had to be the guy.

He had to take all that money, so when the actual good QBs catch up one day it doesn’t look so bad.

For example a future quote could say : “Joe Burrow barely makes more money than Dak. The Bengals got a steal!”

Best Career: Hurts
Best player: Barkley
Oh, not even close.

Best career is Lane Johnson by a landslide. Easy HOFer, who else can you even say that about?

Best player: That's a really tough one. Prolly a choice between Jalen Carter and maybe Nolan Smith or Zach Baun. Our own Q and Dexter Lawrence get honorable mentions.

Barkely has had one stellar year, and a couple of decent ones. Even this last season he had 1,140 yds rushing/4.1 YPC. Average.

99.99% of QB that’s ever played would be on that list.

It would be NFL history at this point for Dak to win a Super Bowl with the Cowboys given he currently, at 33, is tied for the worst playoff record ever for a QB with 5 playoff starts.

Jup Lane Johnson is also a good choice.

You know Barkley was voted as the #1 overall player of the NFL last year?

Also Barkley played for the Giants. Its not by accident he went for 2k after playing for a good offense finally.

You can argue that RB is not such an importamt position in the NFL. But Barkley is the best player in the NFCE and its not even a competition.

And just a hint if you want to be taken serious: it doesnt help your argumentation if you are trying to add our QB to that conversation. Being a fanboy is ok, but dont bring feelings to a conversation that is about rational valuation. It just will not pan out. It will drag all the other stuff down you want others to hear or read.

I doubt that.

How do 99.9% of all QBs that ever played the game have a SB ring?

I am very curious about that list. Do you have a source for that?
