He's done it before, has many years of experience and knows the players, so it would be as seamless as possible. And he was an early Miles Austin supporter (good read here).

I don't know...Shanahan and Carroll each are reported to have gotten 7M/yr on their new gigs. Jason is being paid about $3M, if I'm not mistaken. I think he easily gets $5M/yr if, in fact, he gets offered a HC job this year.

They are both getting 7M because they ARE the head coaches and even have some personnel decisions. Garrett is still an assistant and doesn't have any say in personnel decisions.

He interviewed for coaching jobs last year. The only reason he didn't leave is because they didn't hire him.

There is a good chance he leaves this year.
