with Garrett looking and acting like a head coach on side....who does Dallas target to coach this offense.

What if, what if, Garrett stays again next year?

He basically runs his side of the ball anyway. Why fix it if it's not broken?

He's here after Wade anyway. Who's to say Jerry doesnt pick up next years contract, and then hire Garrett after next season?

Geez, can we at least get through playoffs, if they make it that far, and have someone hire off Garrett before talking about that?

I don't agree with your conclusion, mostly because of the false premise.

It doesn't look like there is going to be any jobs available that he would want. I see him staying.

He won't get a shot at another job, given that he'll be coaching into February. Honestly there aren't that many jobs open this year.

Garrett is being PAID like a head coach. He isn't going anywhere.

Great question...and one that will likely have to be answered. My guess would be Ray Sherman.

If Garrett leaves, the answer for replacement is easy for me. Ray Sherman
.

He's done it before, has many years of experience and knows the players, so it would be as seamless as possible. And he was an early Miles Austin supporter (good read here).

I don't know...Shanahan and Carroll each are reported to have gotten 7M/yr on their new gigs. Jason is being paid about $3M, if I'm not mistaken. I think he easily gets $5M/yr if, in fact, he gets offered a HC job this year.

In that case, Jason AND Wade both deserve a raise. Get er' done, Jerruh.

They are both getting 7M because they ARE the head coaches and even have some personnel decisions. Garrett is still an assistant and doesn't have any say in personnel decisions.

He was close to leaving before...

He interviewed for coaching jobs last year. The only reason he didn't leave is because they didn't hire him.

There is a good chance he leaves this year.
