A 5th for Carr is not bad. I'd consider it.sjordan6;1375924 said:It seems the Texans only want a 5th round pick for Carr and I think he is worth that as a backup. He has the coaches here that will allow him to develop the right way and maybe in a couple of seasons he will be ready to start. I really dont think carr is a bad qb but he got a bad rap in Houston. Make no mistake he is not perfect but he never had a line or a strong running game and he had alot of pressure on him as a #1 pick on an expansion team making a boatload of money. if he were to come here and learn as a backup and see the game then i think it will have a good effect on his game. Plus it gives the Cowboys a backup to romo who is young and a good amount of skills who has been a starter in this league. It also pus a little pressure on Romo to know that there is a capable back-up behind him if he doesnt perform.
I think that bringing in Carr is the wrong message to send Romo. Not saying that competition is not good, but this is his job and he needs to know that. Bringing in the former #1 pick of the draft as the "back up" is not a stablizing move IMO.sjordan6;1375924 said:It seems the Texans only want a 5th round pick for Carr and I think he is worth that as a backup. You only play this game for so long and I doubt Carr wants to sit on our bench behind a QB younger than he is. If he has no choice and no one is willing to give him a shot as a starter I would love to have him as a backup but I don't see this happening.

Doomsday101;1375944 said:True. Without knowing his contract that could be the case however some contracts give the player some say so in where they go.
ABQCOWBOY;1375955 said:That's true. However, he's on his second contract and he didn't exactly light it up in Houston so I'd imagine he probably does not have a no trade clause in his current contract. Besides, he's gotta figure that if there are no starting jobs available, it might not be such a bad thing to come to Dallas where you are going against an undrafted FA with one year of experience and a brand new coaching staff with no ties to the current starter and will likely install a brand new offense. That is probably about as even a playing field as your going to get in the NFL. This may not be such a bad opportunity for a guy like Carr depending on what's out there in the way of starting. Heck, if I'm the Raiders, I'm all over this deal. If I'm Carr, I'm hoping it's anybody but the Raiders. Dallas might not be so bad.
Doomsday101;1375956 said:I just feel there are teams out there with a better opportunity than Carr would get in Dallas. Vikes, Raiders, Tampa heck even the Bears could offer him a shot at the starting job. I have nothing against Carr and would not be upset if he ended up in Dallas I just do not see it happening.
