Cause I know Kellen Moore isn't? I keep hearing rumors about Kaepernick being looked at but think its just talk. I think they bring in a vet..but who?

There is no prize waiting on the FA market right now. Unless you bring in a Kaep or Cutler, you are probably waiting until training camp to see if anyone gets cut. Good chance Moore is your backup, and in an extreme situation Romo may come out of retirement.

Why can't Kellen Moore be the backup? He may not be all that, but which backup QB is? Backup QB's are backups for a reason.

They may bring in a veteran, but I don't expect him to be any better than Kellen Moore.

I don't see the team bringing in Kaepernick along with all the baggage he brings with him.

Well I guess I should rephrase that. Some analysts and sports outlets like USA today say he makes sense in Dallas but I don't see how with the money he wants.

I'd take a look at Ryan Fitzpatrick. Had a great season a couple years ago when they kept him upright. His brain turns to scrambled eggs when he's under pressure, but that's not a worry here. He'd have the time to read and diagnose.

I have not seen an actual rumor Kaep and Dallas. I know people have talked about it but that is it.

I think those analysts are talking out of their *****. I don't think Kaepernick cares enough about football, and getting better at playing it.

And that, more than anything else, is why he doesn't have a job, and may not get one batting injury.

And why I see a zero percent chance that the Cowboys would be interested in him. Find a lesser talent who loves the game, much like Kellen Moore, and you'll find a more likely candidate.

Remember, Jason Garrett was the backup from Troy Aikman and Kerry Collins... he did well at essentially the same size, smarts, and arm strength as Kellen Moore. Moore is the backup. I just hope we get a good developmental 3rd stringer; was really disappointed when DET took Kaaya right ahead of us in the late 6th round. But we cant get everyone.

It seemed to me that Dallas didn't really want Kaaya. They could have taken him in the sixth round but chose to trade down instead.

I am not as concerned with 2nd or 3rd string QBs now that Dallas has young QB. I think we all lived in fear for so long under Romo that this is hangover effect from those years.

In that respect, the Cowboys are no different than the vast majority of other teams in this league.

Pittsburgh, Green Bay, Indy, Seattle, Atlanta, Carolina, New Orleans. And on down the list. We are no different.

Moore/Showers are the backups unless somebody veteran, cheap and better gets cut during camp. Most teams are screwed if their starting QB goes down for an extended period of time.
