We all know here that writers, media, and fans call certain players overrated. Who do you guys think is the most overrated writer/sports analyst?

Goose was my first thought... but I would probably have to say JJT.

I'm not fond of his holier-than-thou, smart *** writing style. It isn't very difficult to sit there and think up snide remarks about players and coaches who, although they do have the platform, they have neither the time nor the inclination to defend themselves. JJT is the king of the armchair quarterbacks.

He has made many a formidable decision with the benefit of hindsight.

For me it boils down to this: If you aren't with us you're against us... and JJT certainly doesn't seem to have even the slightest bit of positive thought when it comes to the Cowboys. If all you ever do is chastise and tear down the Cowboys, I'm not going to enjoy reading your stuff. It's as simple as that.

Some of you guys are confusing television personalities for journalist. Stephen A Smith is no longer a journalist, he's in the business of entertainment, and he's very good at it. Not everyone that talks sports is a journalist.

Well said ** and yessir his subtle snide remarks can be very annoying and should've been fired years ago.

Overrated writer?

Probably the entire Dead-spin crew. Granted some of their work is downright fantastic, but there seems to be an opinion of many people that they can do no wrong and are always right. Furthermore, people seem to think that in some sense, they 'take the high road' compared to other sports writers. But, they are the same guys that act with the same childish and unprofessional behavior when they don't get their way. When they get snubbed by an athlete or another sports writer, they hold a grudge until they get their way.

I can stomach Dead-spin over most everything else, but that's not setting the bar that high.

Analyst?

Ron Jaworski.

He's become a joke and is now more style over substance. He's become fully ESPN-ized and has become a caricature of himself and it's hard to take him seriously with so many asinine opinions and questionable analysis. He now relies on his early days at ESPN where he struggled to get TV time, but was an excellent analyst; to help his reputation.

Announcer?

Johnny Miller.

He's horrendous. If you know anything about golf and the golf swing, he essentially is speaking gibberish out there, 90% of the time.

Watkins is the worst, but I don't think he's overrated. I think everyone knows it.

He was the first to come to mind for me also. Although we all know he stinks he does work for ESPN, so I think that makes him overrated by default.
Maybe he falls into who is the worst sports writer category.

JJT is the most arrogant sports writer I've ever seen.

And I can't trust a word out of Ed Werder's piehole .

I don't know who's worse.

Werder is annoying as hell, but at least he doesn't act like he can play football better than all the Cowboy players, and he doesn't act like he can coach better than all of the Dallas coaches. JJT just comes across like he is the expert football player criticizing amateurs who are trying to be as good as he is.

That's a pet peeve of mine... JJT probably couldn't run through one football drill without falling down and breaking an ankle, but he has no trouble at all telling everyone that Wilcox is doing it all wrong.

I'm sure Taylor has written some positive stuff about certain Cowboy players (he has his pets), but I certainly can't remember any. He just shouldn't act like he has all the answers when he couldn't even do one thing that the worst player on the team can do routinely.
