not one of those predictions surprised me

my money's on Pollard for several reasons

    - absolute prototype athlete for his role
    - he fills a role vacant basically vacant for 2 years
    - serious play speed - hits the hole fast and finds running lanes
    - very hard to cover with a LB
    - big play potential on every touch

if he can pass block, he'll get snaps and make big plays

The role has been vacant b/c they don't utilize it. Pollard could be Alvin Kamara and he'd still only get 3-4 touches a game. On offense, I think only Jarwin and Gallup have any chance of breaking out, but there are a bunch of guys on defense who could. I like Xavier Woods there.

Tangent, but I'm sick of hearing about Randall Cobb as some kind of gamebreaker. He hasn't been since 2015 and that was with Aaron Rodgers at QB. I'd be absolutely shocked if he does anything more than Cole Beasley.

Disagree about Pollard, unless the plan is to take away a good amount of carries from Zeke, which would just be dumb. There's room on this team for Pollard but not enough to ever call him a "star". Zeke is the straw that stirs the drink on this offense.

    Jeff Heath. No question.

Pollard or maybe Tristan Hill out of the rookies. One of the rookie WRs will make big plays in the new Kellen Moore offense, a guy like Jon'Vea Johnson or Reggie Davis.

Probably Maliek Collins out of the veterans, but Awuzie, Lael Collins, Dak Prescott, Dorance Armstrong and Taco Charlton will play better than fans expect.

If I was in Vegas I would throw a long shot bet on Kerry Hyder also.

As good as this team is talent wise, there’s still plenty of players I’d like to see take that next step. Good news is, most of the roster is young and actually capable of improved play. That said, I’ll stick with defensive because I’d love to build on last years performance and become the feared force of our team.

Personally, I want Trysten Hill to be as advertised and disrupt the interior of the opposing OL. With our bookends of Lawrence & Quinn.. this DL has the makings of a shutdown defense on paper. Unfortunately, I also recognize this might be too
much to ask for from a rookie DL. We’ll see..

To answer the question..”Who’s this years emerging star?”

My Bold prediction is Dorance Armstrong. I haven’t seen much ab him this off season and I’m ok with that. He seems to be flying under the radar when folks start naming off impact players. Yet at 6’4” 260+lbs, Physically he reminds me of Lawrence. Lawrence didn’t do much he rookie season due to a foot injury, but he added 8 sacks the following year after getting his body in shape for the NFL game. He really exploded in the playoff game against Detroit in the 2015 playoff game. Armstrong has the size, length, and speed to excel. Now after a year under his belt and a full offseason to get stronger, I feel Armstrong could be a dark horse favorite to emerge as a budding star. And this could really help the DE in ‘20, after Quinn’s one year rental has moved on. Armstrong is doing it the right way.. staying under the radar and staying out of the spotlight, but I have a feeling that spotlight is about to shine bright.

That's an interesting one, I like it. I'm just not sure where he'd get any reps.

Williams...I think he is going to surprise a few at LG. on defense, I would say LVE is going to be even scarier if that's possible. he is going to be a beast.....

Zeke is as indestructible as any RB in the league. That workhorse needs to be ridden hard. 10 fewer carries for Zeke to throw away on Pollard is nothing short of pure insanity. Pollard shouldn't touch the ball any more than 4 times per game unless the wheels fall off of Zeke.
