Zaxor, I kinda like "All of the above." They have all contributed to the current mess, and we are all really arguing over who (or what) get's the "lion's share" of the blame. It's why the solutions are not so easy to decipher.

can't really blame JJ, he was going along with BP choices. But yes, all the above is more like it. Plus the NFL gave the Giants that extra home game. If they played away and lost, could have set a different tone for their season, or at least been a loss instead of awin

Exactly too what "mess" are you referring? Have you given up? No need for this type of poll. This goes for all of you doomsayers. There are two games left. Still possible to make the playoffs.

How about "none of the above- we've just not good enough yet".

How about all of the above ;)

And agree, we are not good enough, but why arent we good enough.....

cause years of mismanagement

cause there was a misjudgement regarding the talent level on the roster which in turn caused Parcells to do a complete overhaul in midstream

i dont know enough to say which assistant coaches are not doing well because its tough to see who is actually responsible for which decisions, but i do know that teams that perform well have assistant coaches that are able to make adjustments during games and havent seen much to make me think we are doing well in that area.

And injuries have hurt the team, and even worse is the fact that serviceable backups are not on the roster.

What's it going to be then, eh?

I don't blame Mr. Jones because he was the man who opened up his chequebook.

I don't blame Coach Parcells because simply he did the most he could with what he had.

I don't blame the injuries because they occur with everyone.

I do blame the assistant coaches, specifically Tony Sparano, for the disgusting showing we have had with perhaps the highest paid OL in team history. I would also lump in ST coach Bruce DeHaven for not developing a reliable PK and also hit Sparano alongside his head again for our terrible running game.

Depth is the last element added to any rebuilding team. And any team like ours coming off a bad season and still spending significant amounts of money and draft picks trying to fill starting roles is *always* going to have depth issues.

Look how many players from Campo's squads are not only not here anymore, but flat out gone from football. That doesn't leave much to build on.

Ours hit us in the two worse places possible - O-line, when we had just signed a QB who needs a good one, and LBers, where we just switched to a 3-4 that depends on them.

We're paying the price right now for basically standing pat in 2004, which was a huge mistake. But there really isn't a lot more that can be done right now until this coming offseason.

I blamed Jerry. I believe that it always starts from the very top. If the past drafts weren't so miserable, they'd be better off right now. Injuries haven't helped and Parcells hasn't rolled sixes on every move either, but the problems with the O-Line were here long before Parcells came along. Furthermore, "this mess" is still an 8-6 record which will most likely be 9-7 when all is said and done. We were a 5-11 team before Parcells came along.

Off the bat I would blame Zaxor for bringing this up again. ;) :D

On a serious note I think you have to go from top to bottom.

I just can't see how you could only blame one without others.

Sure other teams have injuries....but at the same time they DO play a part in your team's performance at times.

Sure you can blame assistant coaches...we have went through some over the years.

Sure you can blame the head coach...he has admitted blame himself.

Sure you can blame the players...drop passes, missed tackles, bad throws, penalties and so on.

Sure you can blame the owner...if we would have been preparing for the eventual departure of our star QB (whether left because of injury or not), if we would not try to hit a home run with a toothpick instead of a louisville slugger and other reasons.

Years of bad drafting, mismanagement of roster personnel, and poor head coaching decisions.

Last time I checked the other teams have players and coaches that get paid too.

They all want to win too.

Over half the league is in worse shape than we are, many substantially so.

It's fine and dandy to "whack" the players, but they only hold one draft.

State of the Union in the USA 2005- it's never "we lost" it's always "we didn't come to play today", "we got outcoached", "the playcalling killed us", "the refs screwed up", yada yada yada...

How about....just once...."they beat us", "they were better today", "our talent level is improved but not there yet"..."we still have a chance to make the playoffs which 95% of the fans would have taken before the year started"

Nah....the blame game is so much more satisfying...
