I don't know where to get the information needed to really rate any one individuals value to their team but maybe someone with more knowledge (access to salary cap info for 2005!) can post a little info here to generate some debate-----As a BLEDSOE fan I think he has been a bargain for this team and came to Dallas not so much for the money as he did for a chance to go out playing with a winning team-----as I stated in another thread I would rather have Bledsoe taking his piece of the Dallas Payroll than Peyton Manning taking his paycheck off the top!

Bledsoe is probably worth it. Here are some others:

1) Roy Williams
2) Marion Barber, III (nice to have a good backup RB .. he's starting quality)
3) Terrence Newman

Bledsoe, for all that punishment he's taken. We should go an arrest Cortez and Cundiff for stealing money.

Jason Witten's probably our best bargain right now.

But that'll change soon. He'll get a nice contract.

from my perspective no athlete is worth the money thay are paid.

other overpaid professions: actors, entertainers, lawyers, politicians

underpaid: teachers, service men/women, emergency services (EMTs, police, fire fighters etc)

i am sure i am leaving some out

probably not the repsonse you are looking for so feel free to ignore. just a pet peeve of mine and i couldnt resist.

ya but what athletes do on the field generates a crapload of money for team owners, cities, broadcasting stations, and many forms of advertisement. So it's only fair that they get paid accordingly.

i dont mean to drag this out however this is exactly the kind of attitude because of which we are living in the society we live in with rampant drugs, crime, murder, ...... i could keep going. you are taking a very 'immediate' and short-sighted view of "income generated". lets take a step back, when the EMS and fire fighters save people from certain death to live another 20, 30, 50 years of productive working life, how much "income" do they generate? when a doctos saves a 16 year old from infection to live another 50 years how much "income" does he /she generate, when a teacher teaches one to become a solid, law-abiding member of society from when we start going to school, how much "income" does he/she generate?

what part of that "income generated" do they get? EXACTLY

this is why we as a society are in the mess we (I mean the whole world not just us as in the US) are in (and make no mistake it is getting worse not better) and we are all happy with status quo. can you imagine what it would be like if we started rewarding professions based on their "actual" value to society and not based on "income generated" as we currently do.

sorry for the rant.

If millions of people wanted to see you sweep a floor, would you want minimum wage?

Uhh, let's see...

Peerless Price?
-----Peerless (the price is wrong!) --I like this one! I thought he would be a good addition but with BP's "run first" style the passing game is not a priority (sp?) BUT with the POOR running game it has been a neccessity (I used to know how to spell) ---I think if research was done on Parcell's teams that Bledsoe would have several of the BEST passing years for Parcell's HC jobs!

while teachers, firefighters, police, etc may be deserving of more than they get. there jobs don't gernerate money and are paid by tax payers.thats why they don't get what they deserve. a simple solution is just go out and get you a prtition to ask people to raise there taxes to pay these folks more money and see how many agree with you, but don';t want to pay for it

that is one perspective cooner01, mine is a little different. however, this argument has no end so i will stop here and let the good folks of our beloved board get back to football. perhaps we can into it in more detail on one of the other forums when we have more time to reflect.

this weekend is meant to wish everyone a Happy and Healthy New Year and to watch football.

Bledsoe is worth every penny... what a leader and a true warrior! Gets his lights sacked out bunches and never complains. Still has been the most consistent offensive weapon since Aikman in the passing game. All the other small fry QBs between Aikman and Bledsoe you can throw back into the water IMHO. What a standup guy too, he earlier wrote out a check to the Salvation army for like fifty thousand dollars for Hurricane Katrina victims.
