I sure wish I could have seen Bob Lilly back in the 60’s. Lilly’s playing days are probably the greatest part of Cowboys’ history I missed.

Props to Larry Cole for tackling Riggins behind the line of scrimmage in the final minutes of the season ending Washington game. 79 season. Dallas lost in the first round that year too.

I could have put Novacek on that list but instead I chose Larry Allen. I remember Novacek when he hurdled the KC defender on his way to the end zone. I think that was the 95 Thanksgiving game. Clutch player like Witten is now. I chose Larry Allen because he flat out mauled DTs... His shove would just break the other guy.

I almost put Terrell Owens on that current list, but instead chose Newman. Terrell had a great season and I was impressed with how he handled himself as well as the media this year. Keep up the good work T.O. Plus, he was a consummate playmaker.
Of course I did choose Newman because he usually flat shuts his side down. He may not have the picks to pad his stats, but he does have the respect of the opposing QB. I’ve been impressed with him ever since he was a rookie. I can’t wait to see him healthy next year.

I can't pick just one of these:

Roger Staubach
Bob Lilly
Tony Dorsett
Ed "Too Tall" Jones
Harvey Martin

and more recently:

Emmit Smith
Troy Aikman
Michael Irvin
Darren Woodson
Larry Allen
Charles Haley

Okay, Roger Staubach. The most exciting, competetive player I've ever seen. He hated the opposition. Wouldn't even talk to them after the game, or anywhere. Just the epitome of why the Cowboys would become America's team (because we were often underdogs, and took a long time to finally win the big one).

Issac Holt?

Wow. I'm not sure he would crack the top 100 for me.

Holt played for the Vikings from '85-89 and then the Cowboys from '90-'92.

He only played 3 years here and didn't do anything special.

Picking him out as a favorite Cowboy is like picking out Aaron Glenn or Phillpi Sparks or Kevin Mathis or James McKnight or any number of other short terms vets who came in and do ok for a couple of seasons.

Ike Holt was Roy Williams before there was a Roy Williams - in the transitional period right after Jimmah took over the helm. Holt used to just knock the snot outta people. One of the few bright spots on a team struggling to resurrect itself.

Not saying you are one of my all-time faves, but - I remember you Isaac Holt....

My favorite Cowboy - Phil Pozderac. You guys think Flozell is a problem? ...this guy was a machine.

When he wasn't false-starting - he was holding.
