As usual, some of the best receivers in the NFL led the league in drops. The only time the media makes a big stink about it is when it's TO in first place.

It would make more sense to look at a ration of passes caught to dropped passes. For instance:

Santana Moss: 61 catches and 10 dropped balls. Dropped a ball 14% of the time it hit his hands.

Terrell Owens: 81 catches and 10 dropped balls. Dropped a ball 11% of the time it hit his hands.

Santana played a couple of games less also.

PRobably b/c they get the ball thrown to them most often.

Is that list complete? I thought Witten had more drops than Owens this year... I know at one point he had more than Owens anyway.

But drops ..... Still have to be carefully evaluated. Trust me... The one throwing the pass makes a huge difference. NO !! T.O. does not have the BEST hands. He is a big and a terrific athlete etc...

But any receiver, good or bad...... will tell ya that.... Some quarterbacks make the throws more "catchable" for lack of a better term. That might mean lobbing it in soft instead of gunning it or whatever. The goal is to make a throw and have it caught.

But they HELP by making a pass EASIER to catch.

Drops SOMETIMES but not always can also be caused by the QB. Some are WAY better in making the pass EASY to catch.

81 catches, 1355yds and 15td's makes me feel alot better about it though.

You need to get the ratio of passes throw at vs drops.

I don't see attempt stats, but I do see Dallas Clark only had 58 receptions, but still lead the league in drops with 12. That is vs Owens 81 receptions and only 10 drops.

Code:
Clark: 12/58 = 20.6%
Ownes: 10/81 = 12.3%

in dropped passes this past season? Does anyone know?

It was a statistical "leap" year. TO didnt lead the league so they disregard the tally.
