Berny or Collins? I'd like to see Collins because I want the nastiest run blocking line out there. But I can see them deferring to Berny because he's more experienced at picking up inside blitzes and stunts.

After re-watching that game last night.....It's Collins for me for the rest of the year. Ron Leary was brutal Sunday night. Continually got pushed backwards......didn't reach the second level to cut off the LBers...not once did he complete assignment...and it was his guy making the tackle all the time. Our run game would have been great if it wasn't for Leary's sub par play. IMO I think part of his injury was because he was getting pushed backwards all night long by Hankins. You would think 2 big guys would normally stalemate each other....not Sunday Night.

whoever it is better get themselves ready to go. Watching Philly vs Alt they like bringing that blitz up the middle.

I would prefer Bern goes this game. Philly will bring the blitz right up the middle all night. Bern is more experienced and should be more productive. I think we lose a little in the run game with Bern in there but I would trade that production for keeping Tony healthy. I don't think this is the game you give Collins some on the job training.

Easy answer. Leary if he is healthy enough. Leary said today he was ahead of schedule and it would be a game time decision based on how he felt.

If Leary can't go, then its whoever practices better this week between Collins and Bern. The staff knows what Bern can do, so they are most likely putting the work load on Collins to see if he can earn their trust. So if Collins wows them, I would expect him to start. If he doesn't then Bern will go.

That will lend itself nicely to the way dallas used the rbs last week.

I dont think its that easy to answer.

If you start Leary then who do you take to the game ? Last time we took Bernie and sat Collins. But the reason for that is that Bernie covers 2 backup spots and Collins only 1. Not because Bernie is the better LG.
So if Leary is healthy enough to start but may not finish the game who do you take to the game and who do you sit ? Remember usually you only take 7 OL players to the game. Thats a backup Tackle and ....

Leary was fantastic before getting hurt.

If Leary doesn't play, I'd assume that Bernadeau starts, just because he's more experienced. Not that I wouldn't love to see Collins in there, because I would. I just think it would be a huge mistake if Romo got injured because Collins made a rookie mistake on picking up a rusher that Bernadeau would've got.

If Collins starts, it's because the coaching staff feels comfortable with him in there and feel that he gives them more upside than Bernadeau. If that happens and Collins has a great game, it wouldn't surprise me if Leary doesn't get his spot back.

This might be the game where it is worth carrying 8 OL. Fletcher Cox was the most difficult guy to block that they saw last season (Yes, more difficult than Watt).

Until we're informed otherwise, I'm pretty sure Bernie will be our LG vs. Philly. It takes time for rookies to make the mental adjustments necessary to claim competency at that position. I'm fairly confident that it's just a matter of time before La'el Collins masters that part of the position. His physical makeup definitely seems ideally suited to handle what's required for the task. If not this year, then perhaps 2016 might signal his LG christening. In the meantime, it appears Bernie will be awarded the honor while Leary awaits his return to full health. They're calling it a strain as opposed to a pull, so I'm assuming it shouldn't take too long.
