This past week, someone here suggested that we run the Coslet trick play where the TE blocks into the line, falls down...waits a second then gets up and goes out for a pass while the QB rolls in the opposite direction.

We ran it today on the TD to Witten that got called back.

Obviously, Parcells reads the Zone for game tips.

:D ;)

Maybe Dale gives BP a Cliffs Notes version of our posts every week.

I luv you guys and gals but I hope the Tuna doesn't. Now just in case he does, hey coach; ace double tight quater back throw back with the WR running a skinny post from the 50. :D

With a side of fries.

:wink2:

If he reads this place he might try and run 30 yard slants.

I just hope he doesnt read ScottCase posts. Otherwise Bill might kill himself after trading eveyone of our players because Roy Williams,Julius Jones, Terrence Newman,LaRoi Glover all suck. (according to him)

Didn't look like the same play to me.

It wasn't. It was a different play.

I really liked it. The run fake went right, Witten was lined up on the right and ran a drag behind the offensive line back out to the left where he was wide open.

I bet the team had to work on that play a bit. That takes some timing to run it well. Like the announcers on TV said, it allowed Witten a relatively clear path to the left hand side of the field while the LB or safety covering him had to wade through other players on the defensive side of the ball to follow him.

Agreed. Different play, but well designed and executed. I still like the Coslett play, though, and wish we would integrate it into the play book as well.

If BP is reading the Zone for plays, I will assume that this is where he got the idea for the Keyshawn reverse two weeks ago. Haha.

If he is reading this forum for any sort of advice, he should be canned immediately.

Are you sure that was a designed fall down, Juke? I just Tivo'd it and although the camera didn't follow, it appeared Witten got canned a little off the line. If that was the Coslet play, Witten deserves a Golden Globe...

That was me who suggested the old Coslet play.

Man I was happy when I saw it run, and then sick when I saw the flag.

And for those saying it was not the same play, it was. It was run exactly like I explained.

Witten was lined up on the Right, engaged in a block, fell to the ground, layed there for a quick second, got up and sprinted to the other side of the field. Meanwhile Bledose rolled to the right and brought the whole Defense that way, and then threw it back across the field.

Perfectly executed except for a stupid holding call. What a shame, ruined my claim to fame. :bang2:

AT LEAST THEY RAN IT! Good call Peyton.

I could be wrong, but I recall the Coslett play had the TE starting on the LEFT side, acting like he was blocking, falling down and then getting up and running to the same side. Everyone else, QB, RB, linemen were going to the right.

Witten started on the right and ran all the way across to the left.

That is also how I recall the Coslett play being run.

This version seemed a bit more elaborate.

A good thing our offense involves more then just that play.
