I understand the injuries and that's part of the game. I still think there is part of him that doesn't have the desire to practice/play for 16 weeks. If it were I and I already have an injury prone Lee and the front office loves the injury prone Durant, I don't take a chance on McClain. Take that money and put it towards DL.

Draft Denzel Perryman from the U. Perryman, Hitchens, Lee and Durant are just as good as McClain, Hitchens, Lee and Durant.

Was it two separate injuries, or just a continuation of the 1st one?

I do think the Cowboys have to consider other options at LB than McClain and Durant. We already know that Lee is a high probability to get injured again. Do they need two other oft injured LBs also?

A 4-3 LB is not the hardest thing to find in free agency.

This.

I would like to know if it was one injury or two.

I would love to see Lee, Hitchens and McClain playing together (probably the best linebacker trio in football), but, do you think this happens?

Don't forget Carter and Durant. If healthy, this could be a monster of a LB core, even without McClain...

I really like McClain. He seems to fire the defense up and is a lot like Dez on the sidelines. I saw him on "Inside the NFL" really animated while talking to the Defense. He seems like a leader and we need that.......

Lee, Hitchens and Durant are better, IMO.

You'd have our two best cover LBer's out there in Durant and Lee. Plus, they both FLY to the ball which is Hitchens' specialty too.

Imagine McClain and Carter waiting in the wings for 20 snaps or so............

We have to resign Bruce and durant and mcclain. One of those I think is odd man out. I'm on the fence who to keep. Mcclain in camp w Lee imo would be unbelievable. But how he fell apart toward the end makes me weary

We need him his fire and leadership are valuable and I hope he is back. The guy has been through a lot and losing his home surely effected his mindset. Hopefully he can get his life in order this offseason and return to have a monster year for us next season.

I don't know if he'll be back. Though I'd be very disappointed to see him go.

I suspect he will be back but it is hard to know how susceptible he will be to further concussions.

I don't think he will get the big payday he was hoping to get based on conversations that were had mid-season informally but I still think he wants to play and if his symptoms quickly abate there is little reason to believe he can't try to do so.

I like Perryman alot, and he could be there at 27. but LB might not be a popular pick

He absolutely comes back. It may have been the same concussion and we rushed him back, plus he had a nasty flu and his house burned down . His head was messed up in more than one way.

It's a different time, a safer time but I expect him 100% for camp signed long term.

Agree. Has there been any definitive source that has confirmed this is " concussion related" as all I can recall seeing is concussion like symptoms. The nasty flu that has been going around ( recall he ran 102 fever) can cause wobbly sensations/unsteadiness.

I know I have had that flu for about 3 week, and just now getting over it...

I hope he isn't back with us...he's brittle and I really don't think his heart is in it, except for the coin.

Do we honestly think that the walking wounded LB corp can stay healthy a full year?

I don't even say that sarcastically.

No we don't, but when you have Carter and Durrant as back ups it makes it a lot easier. I think all five linebackers need to be brought back for that same exact reason.

I really have noting to back this up, .. but I'm figuring that playing LB in the NFL brings a lot of different injuries with it.

If you play LB and don't miss some time, I think you are very lucky that year.
