All the pressure is on him and I think he has accepted the challenge. I like the fact that now teams don't know where were going to throw the ball and also a bit more conservative play calling such as hitting the fullback out of the backfield etc. Nothing against TO, hes a wonderful talent and player but regardless if he causing trouble or not the media is always going to be on him and its not conducive to winning. Im not saying Im going to be right but I think Romo wins the MVP this year. Anyone else agree?

He's one of the very best QBs in the NFL and we have a shot at being very good this year... so hell yeah, I think Romo has a shot at MVP.

I think he's certainly capable of having that kind of year (he did the year before last), but winning the award is another thing.
If they can somehow justify not giving Ware Defensive Player of the Year last year and giving the award to a guy who didn't even have as many All-Pro (not Pro Bowl which would be meaningless) votes at the same position, I have little confidence that they would give it to the media's favorite whipping boy unless he had a Brady '07 type of year.

How about we win a playoff game first?

IMO league MVP means nothing if you can't win the big games. This should be the furthest thing from his mind.

Unfortunately, this is a great point. I'm still pissed about Ware getting robbed.

If the Cowboys are riding high and do not slump during December, then he very well could.

Nobody can make a positive post without the predictable "lets win a playoff game before we worry about that" response.

I swear I do not understand why people come here if they do not want to talk about anything until we win a playoff game.

We cannot win a playoff game for a few more months ..... if you do not want to talk about anything until then ..... see ya in 2010.

Good grief.

As far as the original subject ...... No, I think there would be to much bias against Romo this year for him to win it unless it was not even close.

He's capable of it. Whether or not he can do it is another question. How about a trivia question?

Every Cowboys fan knows the Super Bowl MVP trivia, but not many will know this question.

How many times has a Dallas Cowboy been the NFL MVP or Player of the Year?

Yeah, that is one of my pet peeves too. Plus if I am not mistaken we did not even make the playoffs last year. So if we are going to commit to that line of thinking shouldn't we just focus on winning game 1 and then ultimately winning enough games to make the playoffs???

Count me as one who does not care about personal achievement only goal I'm interested in is winning. If Tony gets it and we win great if he doesn't and we win great. For me this is the year of the team hell with the individual accolades

I'm not interested in winning, I just want to make sure everyone else goes home a loser. ;)

This may sound silly, but I really hope that Romo doesn't have the numbers to get MVP this season.

Why?

Because if Rono has Drew Brees-2008 like numbers, our running game has failed and balance was never achieved this season.

That will work as well. :laugh2: I just want the focus for this club to be team 1st and foremost all the other stuff is meaningless for this team. We have seen the big stats from individuals we have seen the pro bowl players and while all that is great it is for the individual it has not led to a championship which should be the single focus of this team

It bothers the **** out of me as well.

It's as if they actually believe we're part of the team and need to focus on the task at hand.

We're fans! We can talk about anything we want and it won't effect the team. 2011 draft or women's implants. Makes no difference.

Romo can win the MVP for sure. And I don't think putting up MVP type numbers will be a detriment to our success in any way.

This is still a pass first league, especially for those teams with an elite QB. To be honest, I have a hard time envisioning us winning 13 or more games without MVP type numbers from Romo.

BTW- Ware didn't win defensive MVP because our team and more specifically our defense finished middle of the pack.
I don't agree with it, but that's the reality. The teams success is taken into account in any MVP award.
Especially when we're talking about Cowboy players. Cowboy players can't win these type awards unless there's no debate. It has to be a clear cut win.
