Who thought this was a mismatch in our favor?

From ESPN insider:

“The strength of the Cowboys' offensive line is along the interior with OGs Larry Allen and Marco Rivera and OC Al Johnson. However, the biggest size advantages that this group will have on Monday night will be on the perimeter with LOT Torrin Tucker and ROT Rob Petitti working against a pair of Eagles defensive ends in Jevon Kearse and N.D. Kalu that are struggling in all facets of their play right now. As a result, look for the Cowboys to target those mismatches with a lot of sweeps and off-tackle and cutback runs in this game.”

I’m not as convinced as some writers seem to be at this point. We have the potential to be a great team this year and I hope that is the way it ends up. I just want a little more before I say they win the East and that players on our OLine that most wanted kicked out are going to dominate.

I believe we have more talent on this team then the Eagles do. At the beginning of the year I didn't think this way, but after 8 games, it's clear that we do. On both sides of the ball, the Cowboys are a better team this year. Our secondary now with Henry, is better. The Eagles secondary isn't what it was a year ago. They are having issues. Dawkins, who is probably the only Eagles player I like, isn't what he was. Their CBs are very good, but are having issues this year since the DL isn't getting the job done. Kearse is having a terrible year and Kalu doesn't scare me. Losing Simon is a bigger hit to them then they thought. I have my doubts with our OTs, but Arizona has a better DL then the Eagles, and our OL didn't do a bad job against them.

On offense, their receivers will be decent, but without TO, just decent. Westbrook is the only real threat they have. McCrap is hurt and it shows. He hasn't had a good game, except SF, this year, and I don't expect him to do any spectacular against us. Bledsoe on the other hand has played excellent to this point. I don't see why it would stop. The Cowboys have had 2 weeks to prepare for this game.

This Monday game is critical for both teams. It could make the difference for the rest of the season for both. The Eagles could win this game. As they say, on any given Sunday or in the case, Monday. The Eagles are desperate, but I believe the Cowboys will be prepared. They know what is at stake here.

This will be the game that defines the Dallas Cowboys as a team that is ready to take back control of the NFC East.

The way it should be with Dallas on top....and in control of their destiny.

Kearse and Kalu are both undersized and both banged up right now, last week both were listed on injury report, i think they are still both listed.

If we run to our left, behind LA and Tucker we will be working against Kalu and I beleive Hollis Thomas. Running right it will be Rivera and Pettiti against Patterson/Walker and Kearse. I think I like the matchup on the left better, both Walker and Patterson have played well.

As far as defending the pass rush, i think tucker can hold his own vs Kalu and Allen should handle Thomas. That leaves Johnson and Rivera to take on the other DT (walker or patterson) and watch for the blitz up the middle, and leaves Petitti against Kerase. I think Pettiti played well against Kerase the first time and Kearse is has a shoulder injury right now so i am looking forward to see how that matchup plays out.

If Barber/Jones do well picking up the eagles blitz, i think bledsoe has a lot of time to throw.

I agree, but also note that the Cowboys are still 3 point dogs in this game. The odds makers expect this to be a tight game. I'm not sure that I expect the same ... Cowboys 31, Eagles 10. Again.

I believe we can run at either one of those guys, especially Kearse. When it comes to run blocking, Rob can manhandle Kearse, just gotta watch out for the pass rush.
